"Digital Citizenship is being respectful and responsible while on the internet. It can be when you are writing a blog post, or even when you are chatting on a social network. A lot of times when kids are on social networking, kids write mean stuff on the internet where everybody can see. It's easy to say things you don't want to say. It's also trying to keep away from "bad" people. They don't know you and you don't know them, and they might be looking at your page any minute. It's being careful and not sharing personal information such as last names, addresses, phone numbers, and so on to stay safe. These videos can show you how it's like."

Hard to explain To be clear, Qwiki isn't a piece of hardware. Instead, it's a piece of software meant to run on the web and as an app on mobile devices. What it does is present to you data about millions of topics in an extremely interesting and visual way. Imagine if someone created a movie highlight reel of Wikipedia pages - that's sort of what Qwiki is like. You search for something - a topic, a person, etc - and Qwiki talks to you, telling you all you need to know about what you searched for, while also showing you key things about the subject or person. You can also click on sub-topics or related topics to access more Qwikis with vast amounts of other information. It's a fairly incredible way to consume information. And the data isn't just from Wikipedia. Say you do a search for a person, Qwiki can look at their social connections and tell you about their LinkedIn profile, for example. It is very, very impressive.

"My frustration with Google Apps on iPads is well known, so I'm often asked how I go about addressing this given my use of both. Browsers. Browsers. Browsers. I'm constantly searching for browsers that work between the two. The good is that I can usually find one. The bad is that on any given day an update to either Google or the browser app could mean I'm searching again. Even worse, there is always a give and take on what actually works. Right now, the one I've been using most lately both personally and on our pilot iPads is the Rover browser app."

"I wanted something very, very simple that delivered great results in 60 seconds of prep time or less. It may take you a few tries to get below the one-minute mark, but I think you'll enjoy the results every time! This, after measuring out the flour, presents another prime opportunity to get flour on your person. This will be regarded by many as a sign of your culinary determination. You'll need such signs because anybody who actually watches you make the bread will think you're one of the laziest bakers in existence. 3. Stir Into A Heavy Batter Use a spoon. You could use your hands if you wanted but you probably didn't wash your hands before starting this anyhow. Start with a quick run about around the perimeter of the bowl with your spoon. A few quick strokes through the middle and you should have a heavy batter. If it looks too thick to be pancake batter and not thick enough to be playdough, you're right on target. 4. Set It And Nearly Forget It Cover your project

About as good an example of how to use tech as i have seen for a while. Some more personal voice would be nice to see as well

I had two eye-opening experiences this week, both really got me thinking about online sharing, curation of digital versus "real" work (E-portfolios) , and overall student learning, both in terms of motivation for and expressions of. The first was the grade 10 MYP Personal Project exhibition, the second my daughter, Kaia's, student-led conference for her PYP Kindergarten class.

An amazing website of Non profit advertising/marketing for social causes. Has a huge range of ideas and ways to take action on a cause. Worth a look for anyone involved in UOI, Action, or Personal projects.
