2. The compass - the compass is a thinking tool that helps us to explore issues from 4 very different perspectives. These perspectives help us to consider other peoples points of view and the impact that our decisions may have on others. We have used the compass in the Year 6 Exhibition for the past 2 years. When people realize I own a website that reviews iPad apps they invariably ask "so what's the BEST iPad app?" I always find that question mind-boggling. There are over 1/2 million apps in the Apple App Store! We weed through hundreds of new apps each and every week just to find the gems among them. The "best" apps for your iPad is going to depend on you. I depends on who you are, what you like and what you use your iPad for.

The Center for Digital Storytelling (CDS) is an international non-profit training, project development, and research organization dedicated to assisting people in using digital media to tell meaningful stories from their lives. Our focus is on building partnerships with community, educational, and business institutions to develop large-scale initiatives in health, social services, education, historic and cultural preservation, community development, human rights, and environmental justice arenas, using methods and principles adapted from our original Digital Storytelling Workshop.

How cool is this! For those unfamiliar with the term, a learning style is a way in which an individual approaches learning. Many people understand material much better when it is presented in one format, for example a lab experiment, than when it is presented in another, like an audio presentation. Determining how you best learn and using materials that cater to this style can be a great way to make school and the entire process of acquiring new information easier and much more intuitive.
