What can i say, a weekly Wrap-up of the news (quite american-centric but hey) Done in a rap (not half bad, and there is a lyrics sheet for those who can't follow the flow! Could be good to get kids looking at news events or just listening to something other than the Beeb.

What is cool about webdoc is that you can so easily embed or drag and drop all sorts of content / media right onto the page and it is also designed for discussion / conversation that can have media included as well. Here are some ways I can envision using it in education: Students create passion profiles. Students create "What's Your Genius" profiles of one another and use the discussion to build upon it. Forget textbooks. Create webdocs. Each teacher can have Webdoc that outlines who she is. Classes can make webdocs to celebrate the completion of a unit of study. Schools can use webdocs to organize events. Imagine this webdoc from @jmarkeyAP was a school event. Webdocs as a student learning portfolio.

Gapminder - Looking and Playing with Data I found Gapminder through Edutecher.net. This is simply a great way to look at and play with data dealing with global trends and topics. Health, education, climate and poverty are but some of the few areas of research that have been collected and compiled into these interactive graphs. When you launch Gapminder World, you will be able to select values and indicators charted on the graph axes as well as identify and track specific countries. Basically - it is just too hard to describe the power of this online tool. Any teacher that deals or refers to current and historical events and trends will definitely find Gapminder to be compelling tool!

Looks an amazing site for viewing data in very different ways.

Fakebook is the newest tool over at the excellent ClassTools site (Russel Tarr is the creative genius behind the site). Teachers and students can use it to: - chart the career of a historical character - create a timeline of important events - outline the main plot of a book, play or film and so on!
