"Sometimes you just use Word to write or make a table or chart. Other times it just to make something like a sign or a paper. Some people might need Word to create a table or to write something for their jobs. Some people used Word by going in the program and just writing something and checking the size of the typing. Sometimes they need help and that why we have these tutorials!!! These tutorial helps you by showing you how to do something in Word like a table or change the header. I hope these tutorials help you to become better at doing Word. Here are the tutorials: "

"Economics in the Elementary Classroom posted Sep 3, 2010 6:31 PM by lezlie harris [ updated Sep 3, 2010 6:50 PM ] I am so convinced that little children learn more by pretending and playing. I recently found a role-playing economics unit on the Scholastic site. During this unit, the teacher creates a community in the classroom where children apply for jobs, keep time sheets for those jobs, tally their wages, receive a pay check, cash it at the bank, and shop in the class store. Wow, how powerful is that! Think of all the concepts that can be taught within this unit! I can teach data, charts, graphs, money, persuasive writing, and many social studies standards. Since I am always trying to convert classroom activities into elearning activities, here is a Google Template for submitting job applications. My 2nd graders have loved submitting these applications. Their responses are so sweet! I may copy them to include in my parent conferences."

Gapminder: Unveiling the beauty of statistics for a fact based world view. - Gapminder.org - 0 views

Gapminder - Looking and Playing with Data I found Gapminder through Edutecher.net. This is simply a great way to look at and play with data dealing with global trends and topics. Health, education, climate and poverty are but some of the few areas of research that have been collected and compiled into these interactive graphs. When you launch Gapminder World, you will be able to select values and indicators charted on the graph axes as well as identify and track specific countries. Basically - it is just too hard to describe the power of this online tool. Any teacher that deals or refers to current and historical events and trends will definitely find Gapminder to be compelling tool!

Don't know how to work Microsoft Excel? This is the page for you! Students in ISB middle school have been making tutorials of widely used programs. They have worked a lot to help people around them have a better understanding of technology. On this page you will find how to make bar graphs, math equations, pie charts... This page will come in handy, because Excel, when you learn to use it, is a quick and speedy way to do homework, projects, and lessons.

Graphing 2.0 Information graphics give us new ways to understand and think about information. They include a huge category of visuals that are capable of communicating in diverse ways through charts, maps, diagrams, data visualizations and technical, instructional and scientific explanations. It seems that infographics become more valuable as our need to understand a complex world increases.
