The brain training learning games at ProProfs are a great way to engage your students in some higher level thinking skills. Currently they have 26 games and they represent a good variety of the kind of skills you would expect in this genre of learning software. So, it's no wonder that ProProfs is often rated among the best online games for gifted children. The 60 Second Brain Game is an intense visual and audio test, while Double Bubble and Colour Balls are equally challenging, and get harder the more you play them. There are also a whole collection of other educational games on this site, so if you haven't been here before, you should definitely check it out, because there is a lot to like on this site. Another great site that is well worth your time is Kidopo. This educational site has an amazing collection of brain games that will keep your students engaged for hours. As with everything else on Kidopo, the games are specifically chosen because they are student friendly and appropriate for use at school. Again, all the games are very well produced, and the interest level they generate is always high. Try Fling, Zoo Escape, Mechanics, or Prizma Puzzle 2 with your students and you will quickly see how hard their brains can really work! As a school we are trialling a year 7 class of 30 students with iPad2 and an optional sign up for staff. The staff trial will last 6 weeks, before the students are given a device for the summer term. The hope is that this will allow us to identify key issues with pedagogy and staff development alongside concerns with our wireless network.

50+Ways - 50Dominoes - 0 views

50+ Ways to Tell the Dominoe Story Just to prove it can be done, I create the same story as an example for every tool in the list using a story about my first dog, Dominoe. Previously, I created this short story done as a video assembled from still images and audio that was submitted for a 60 Second Story contest Each story below is based on my storyboard and assembled images on flickr and in Picasa . Note that a number of tools allow you to directly import media from these media sites. Below are examples of the same story (over and over again!) I was able to create in the 50+ tools, with both linked versions (on the tool's web site) and embedded versions, using the code provided to embed a media player into this web site. One of the most interesting discoveries was that most of these tools provided the ability to embed the media in other web sites.

"The Project The Vann Molyvann Project aims to call attention to one of the most important collections of modern architecture in the developing world; to rigorously document it; and to inspire a new generation of architects--American and Cambodian--to create a contemporary architecture that responds to the demands of context, climate and culture. In October of 2010, a collection of drawings, models and photographs prepared by a team of Cambodian and American architects and students was presented at the French Cultural Centre in Phnom Penh. The materials were then displayed at the Phnom Penh International Airport in the Summer of 2011. We are now in the process of arranging for the exhibition to travel abroad. "

One of my favorite video websites is TED. I know many of you are already acquainted with the name but to those who still do not have an idea what TED is all about I would say that you are missing out on an inestimable resource of great videos. TED has been internationally recognized and from different academic and professional bodies as one of the best educational websites. It features interviews with the smartest thinkers of our age. It touches upon every category from entertainment to education. I personally find it the right place to get the necessary inspiration and encouragement to improve and boost my self and professional development.

When people realize I own a website that reviews iPad apps they invariably ask "so what's the BEST iPad app?" I always find that question mind-boggling. The "best" apps for your iPad is going to depend on you. I depends on who you are, what you like and what you use your iPad for.
