Nowadays, you can use a blog (platform) as an easy tool to create and update a website. Choose from thousands of template themes available online (for free) to have a well designed and good looking presence on the web. EdTech Toolbox: Student Designed E-books: Challenge Based Learning - 0 views

  • Martin said... Fantastic project Greg and thanks for sharing. Our grade 6 and 7 students in West Vancouver are just now completing a year-long magazine publishing project. Each student selected a topic of interest and throughout the year they have been taught various writing and publishing techniques. We have partnered with a local university graphic design department and their first year design students have been assisting our students with their layout and design, to produce dramatic publications. Our students have been so motivated the entire year. Giving the students choice and a bit of freedom to experiment and collaborate has been enlightening. We really have noticed a significant level of engagement and ownership with all students, including some boys who are not that keen to write. Our completed magazines will be posted on our ISSUU site http://issuu.com/mandrews. Several samples have been posted.

Greg. Maybe something for the seniors to look at here! Productivity has to be priority number one when you're a student. Between class, study time, and extracurricular activities, there just aren't enough hours in the day. That's why free web apps exist. These no-cost products are specifically designed to make your life easier and less stressful. Some have been around for years and others are relatively new-but they will all do their part to boost your productivity.

webdoc beta - Dashboard - 0 views

What is cool about webdoc is that you can so easily embed or drag and drop all sorts of content / media right onto the page and it is also designed for discussion / conversation that can have media included as well. Here are some ways I can envision using it in education: Students create passion profiles. Students create "What's Your Genius" profiles of one another and use the discussion to build upon it. Forget textbooks. Create webdocs. Each teacher can have Webdoc that outlines who she is. Classes can make webdocs to celebrate the completion of a unit of study. Schools can use webdocs to organize events. Imagine this webdoc from @jmarkeyAP was a school event. Webdocs as a student learning portfolio.

Free Technology for Teachers: How to Put a Video Editor on Your School's Website - 0 views

  •
In Making Videos on the Web I included directions for using the web-based video editor JayCut. That guide was designed for average computer-using classroom teachers, not computer science folks who enjoy tinkering. Therefore, in my guide I left out the fact that JayCut's API is free and allows you to put the JayCut video editor on your own website.
