Ric, I'm one of The High Calling welcome editors and just wanted to say that I'm really glad you've reached out to us. This is a great post, and I love this part: "A church on a mission is what happens when you and I replace the "come to us" invitations with a "go to them" life." Wow! So true…and convicting. I use to live in the Hill Country of TX and now am in Amarillo. Good to see another Texan in the HC network. Welcome aboard! I look forward to getting to know you better online.

Wow. I am so floored by the life you're leading. I work with refugees and know that those who died were refugees trying to escape persecution. Any how, I adore the title of your blog (such a neat picture, too) and I absolutely think your boys are going to grow up to be extraordinary men. I've done some work in prison ministry and know about the recidivism rate, but hadn't heard the statistics you mention here. Staggering! But even more so? How many live in prison without even realizing it. Good questions for thought here.  And welcome to The High Calling!

I'm so sorry for what you've been through. And I know how insecure women can feel when we look at the "perfect" (who aren't really) bloggers. I've been there! I'm thankful you are still holding on to God, and grateful that you've chosen to link up with us at The High Calling. May God continue to carry you in His arms of grace.

I LOVE that quote (thanks for sharing it!) and totally understand the struggle that blogging brings. Jesus' view of success is totally opposite of the world's, isn't it? Chris, it was good to see your name pop up in the new sites for THC! :) Congrats on your new business. And you're so right-now is a terrific time to be in ministry. We have more tools at our disposal than ever before. I'm glad there are people like you out there, teaching (and showing) people how to use them effectively.

New CULTURE member. When I was in the middle of my divorce, my good friend often said to me, "God doesn't waste any of our pain." And you know what? She was right! Welcome to The High Calling!

I work with refugees, and I see God's heart for them every day...there are answers to prayers here in our non-profit offices you wouldn't believe (or maybe you would!). I am so glad you're writing about justice, and the way God sees the poor. Bless you! And welcome to the High Calling network. We're really glad to have you!

I love the humor and honesty you write with. I will be praying for your family, that God wraps His arms of love around You and holds you tightly, and that you'll be enveloped by His peace in the midst of trials. The last year and 1/2 in our family has been quite the ride, and some of it nearly did me/us in emotionally (and physically).
