My Calling IQ » The True Path to Joy - 0 views

The quote about Kirk Cameron made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that! :) And thanks for your insights on this subject. I heartily agree that Christians can (and should) do better. I did like Soul Surfer, however. The fact that it was based on a true story helped the believability to me. But I did think that they glossed over the struggle that the surfer-girl went through. It was more a dark minute of the soul. :) Welcome to The High Calling. I can't wait for you to dig in and become acquainted with our wonderful community. I hope you'll do that soon.

Faithful answers to prayer | FaithTakers - 0 views

My family and I have experienced the same thing this year as we stepped out in faith to move closer to family and pursue a ministry God was calling my husband to. It's been difficult, but I've learned how FAITHFUL He is. Every. Single. Moment. I'm glad you've joined The High Calling network and look forward to reading more about your journey.

Being Offended is a Choice - 0 views

  •
This is timely for me. :) First, welcome to the High Calling blogs community. We're really glad you've joined us. I had someone that was offended by something I said recently. I was too flippant about a touchy subject, and apologized. But this person would not let it go without attacking me, and making sure I knew just HOW offended she was, etc. I do think she's not a happy person, and tried to not let it affect me too badly. I like what you said in the first part of the post-if we're all flawed, then why should be so upset when someone (and that includes ourselves!) says something dumb? I'm just thankful for grace. Again, welcome to The High Calling. I look forward to interacting with you.

  • I think worship is one of the places where we are often tempted to make it about us, instead of about God. I love how you’re having meaningful conversations with people about worship and what a great analogy about familiarity and liturgy. Welcome to The High Calling!

Is Economic Crisis an End-Time Indicator? - 1 views

  • Mike, thanks for the thoughtful post. I have watched the events unfolding over the last few months with curiosity, dread, and a great deal of trepidation. I’m so glad that we know–whatever happens–that Christ WILL come and His perfect kingdom WILL be established. Welcome to the High Calling network. I’m a fellow Wordserve author (Greg is my agent), and I’m also one of the welcome editors. We’re really glad to have you in the community!

StrawberryRoan: Living Waters - 0 views

  • I'm a suburb girl who visited a dairy farm this summer. I didn't get to see the cows finding water sources but we did get to see them being milked by a giant milking machine. :) I think your cows make for a good parallel. This post reminds me of a song I was singing today about being thirsty for Living Water. I love how God does that - confirms His word in us in a variety of ways. Thanks for being part of His living word today. And welcome to The High Calling!

How I adore this song! :) One of my husband's old college buddies, Chris Rice, wrote it, and my favorite words are the last chorus. Stunning stuff. Thanks for reminding me of "Welcome to our World" today. And by the way, welcome to OUR world of The High Calling (I know that's extremely cheesy-but I couldn't resist!). We're glad to have you!

Wow. I am so floored by the life you're leading. I work with refugees and know that those who died were refugees trying to escape persecution. Any how, I adore the title of your blog (such a neat picture, too) and I absolutely think your boys are going to grow up to be extraordinary men. Thanks for sharing a little of your life with us at The High Calling. I look forward to reading more!
