Want to record your voice? Create a song? an Instrument - 0 views

In my search for good audio tools, I found UJAM, a free tool for recording your voice, creating a song, converting your voice to an instrument...you name it. You can see a beta walk through on YouTube, but basically, you sign up, record into your computer's microphone, and make a few manipulations--presto, a song. You can edit chords, the song melody, add instruments, etc. Or you can turn your voice into an instrument! This might be a good tool for musicians, music teachers, and certainly for budding rock stars! Maybe it would be good for unique exercise in a poetry class...the spoken word as song.

If Yes, I highly encourage you to share this Free Educational Technology Resource with fellow teachers interested in implementing Free Technology in Classroom . Alternative Social Media Tools for Teaching and Learning -- Campus Technology - 1 views

  •
This was an interesting list that suggested social media tools to use as alternatives to those that dominate social interaction on the web. The idea behind the suggestions are that for many students Facebook and Twitter exist within a personal social sphere, and that offering a separate space for academic interaction can help preserve the distinction between the two. Tom addressed the benefits of that approach and reasons why it may be worth pursuing in his post this week in the Technology Tools class.

Hi colleagues, Here is a free real-time questioning and data visualization service that is basically like clickers except with cell phones. As long as everyone in the room has a cell phone, this could be used. Or, if some students in a class don't have cell phones, small groups could be formed each with at least one phone to use. Introduction to live streaming - YouTube Help - 0 views

  •
YouTube live streaming can be a way to hold an synchronous class session if your LMS doesn't include that feature. While it takes a bit of effort to set up, once you do it can be a decent way of having live video with a corresponding real-time chat. It can also be made private/unlisted.

I am currently enrolled in both the Tech Tools course and the Instructional Design Course. This web page about where the different tech tools fit in a "Blooms Taxonomy" scheme is a great resource for both classes.

This is terrific. I am going to show it to the teachers at my school. It will help all of us think more clearly about all those tools.

I tried Jing only a couple of weeks back and I have already made over 40 videos for use in my classes.

I was referred to this product by a colleague and it is really easy to use. I use it to record video solutions for my math review. Jing also works with Camtasia, which allows you to edit your Jing videos, as well as convert them into other media types such as mp4.

Classroom Assessment Techniques - 1 views

  •
Classroom assessment is both a teaching approach and a set of techniques. The approach is that the more you know about what and how students are learning, the better you can plan learning activities to structure your teaching. The techniques are mostly simple, non-graded, anonymous, in-class activities that give both you and your students useful feedback on the teaching-learning process.
