After killing and damaging the area they afterward torched number of residences. During this happening deployed police waited as spectator and did nothing to intervene or try to quell the aggression. Later on reports say that Myanmar military, which arrived much later following the event, successfully control over the situation.

The battle of mautah was fought in the fifth of the month of the Islamic calendar in 629. It was fought near the river Jordan at a place near the village named as mautah.
