India and Pakistan partitioned in 1947. With that partition Kashmir was also partitioned with a major of two-thirds going to India and a third going to Pakistan. The basis for Kashmir India Conflict were laid when the ruler of princely state of Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh, was also given the right to decide to merge with India or Pakistan or to remain independent within certain boundaries. KARACHI: India has decided to issue a visa to Pakistani batting legend Javed Miandad. The decision of India's External Affairs Ministry to issue the visa was protested by the Congress and Shiv Sena. Miandad will travel to New Delhi where he will see the last match of the three ODI series against Pakistan and India on January 6. According to the Indian External Affairs Ministry, Miandad was being issued the visa because he was a high ranking official of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The government of Pakistan has proposed the option of UN investigation for the cease fire violation along Pak-Indo border as a couple days India protested the killing of its two soldiers by Pakistan military along the heavily militarized border. India claimed that Pakistan was the one who was involved in the cease fire violation and killed two of its soldiers. However, Pakistan responded back by proposing an option of UN investigation as it is not clear whether it was India or Pakistan.
