Scoring Assessments Scoring rubrics are designed to clearly distinguish among levels of student performance or proficiency. This kind of scoring tool is most often applied to constructed response items and to performance-based tasks.
In the primary grades, student and class performance is constantly being monitored. The teacher will regularly give verbal feedback on how engaged students are (participation). The teacher will also give feedback and suggestions for improvement for skills we are practicing (singing, playing instruments, describing music, improvising, etc.)
