How to make accommodations for music students with special needs has always been a topic of conversation; however, as author Mary Rogelstad suggests, we have nothing to fear; among her list of recommended strategies for effective differentiation are items like teaching lessons that appeal to multiple senses and varying the speed of the content, or repertoire, to be learned and performed. It is good for developing your own lessons and avoiding copyright, and also for programs which may not have a lot of money for new music. There are also composer pages, although I don't think these are exactly helpful. It lacks information other than birthdays and a general sentence explaining who the composer is.

Eric Litwin is an author, musician and producer who specializes in children's music. He is one of my favorite artists for kids. He has many educational resources and a curriculum for preschool children. His books featuring Pete the Cat are awesome and appear regularly in my music room! Eric Litwin also does performances in schools and communities and has visited my school for his "Earth Shaking, CD Making" project where my students learned songs and recorded them to make their own CD.
