    This set of music books is completely free and in PDF format. In addition to that, there are videos that you can show in class or have your students view on their own at home. This is a great resource for a beginning band program that does not have a large budget. All resources are free to use, and it is based in solfege so it is easier to teach a whole room of beginners on different instruments.

    The GF Percussion website is a good website for percussion technique exercises. Some include Stick Control (an essential book for percussionists) and other pad and drum set exercises.

    Artie Almeida has a ton of free downloads to accompany not only her lessons that are in her books, but also free printables that can be used in many original lessons.  Many of her ideas are unique to other lessons I have seen around.

    Artie Almeida's big list of teacher downloads. This webpage is updated frequently to include new resources from the many conferences and workshops that Artie presents around the country. The resources are not very easy to sort through, but they are well worth it! Many songs and activities from Artie's books are included for free and there are countless resources to use in the classroom.

    Here is as software program review of Go for the Gold! I have never seen a software program for the Recorder. This program can be useful for elementary school music students that are beginning to play on song flutes.

    This is the best site to find scores and performance ideas. The site allows you to search by composer or title, and you may also purchase scores one at a time to try them out and see if you want to purchase large numbers later after trying them out.

    Eric Litwin is an author, musician and producer who specializes in children's music. He is one of my favorite artists for kids. He has many educational resources and a curriculum for preschool children. His books featuring Pete the Cat are awesome and appear regularly in my music room! Eric Litwin also does performances in schools and communities and has visited my school for his "Earth Shaking, CD Making" project where my students learned songs and recorded them to make their own CD.

    This website is an important one for Florida band directors to have book marked. The Florida Bandmasters Association provides a variety of educational experiences for students including performance evaluations and honor band experiences. In addition, FBA is a community of educators who support each other by helping each other to grow professionally. The FBA website provides a "best practices" section as well as articles and other resources that are helpful for band directors as they seek to improve their skills.
