I first became familiar with this resource while enrolled in the Creative Thinking course, and it has tremendously helped me fine tune my lessons and procedures. The National Core Arts Standards is a resource that every Music Educator should be familiar with. Educators can reference this resource often to make sure that their planning and activities align with these standards.

The purpose of this resource is to provide a detailed breakdown of the National Core Art Standards. Here you can find standards by subject and strand as well as model cornerstone assessments and student work. This is especially useful if your school district aligns to national standards.

While some items (articles, videos) at the website require PAS membership, there are several items that are available to all. The Kennedy Center ArtsEdge site contains a wealth of lessons, activities, and supporting information to enhance arts education. There is an extensive media library containing audio stories, performance clips and other viable information for students.

The FAME website provides information on the pedagogical approach advocated by John Feierabend, lesson resources, FAQ's, as well as locations for trainings and additional publications. There are thorough explanations on the First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege curricula developed by Dr. Feierabend for those who want to learn more or want to advocate for his methodology. A thorough explanation of the musical content and learning objectives (tuneful, beatful, artful) are also available. A podcast hosted by Dr. Feierabend himself is available to members. Some services, like teacher resources, are also only available to members but have incredibly valuable.

This site is amazing!!! The purpose of this resource is to provide not only teachers, but parents, students, and kids the tools necessary to enhance musical learning. The musical content on this site includes but is not limited to history lessons, composer biographies and activities, instrument identification lessons, orchestral breakdown, a vast musical library, and tons of supporting pdf documents and sheet music for classroom/non-classroom instruction.
