Partifi is a fantastic free, cloud-based website that converts PDF music scores into parts! Very useful for creating customized parts for students and ensembles; especially good for popular piano/vocal scores with no separate voice part available.

This site is great for finding flash cards for all of the string instruments. Front and back flash cards are able to be printed from a PDF format. The notes are big enough for students and also has the fingerings as well as the notes written on the back.

Music teacher Amy Abbot, creates materials for music teachers inspired in the Kodály Method. Through the website teacherspayteachers.com teachers can buy at a low price pdf files, powerpoints, videos and different bundles to PREPARE, PRESENT and PRACTICE music concepts in the general music classroom.

Smithsonian Folkways provides free lesson plans, activities and classroom resources on world music. The lessons can be downloaded in PDF format. The web page offers interactive features for students to learn about other music cultures and heritage.

A great resource of drumline music to not only listen to but use with middle school and high school bands. The recordings are top notch and the ability to download the PDF files and look at the scores are fantastic. They are exciting cadences as well.

On this PDF, there are many links that connect to music sites that students can use. All of the programs are "in the cloud". Students can access these from any computer, at home, school or on the road. All sites are included to facilitate musical creativity.

This is a document that is a resource for creativity and technology for music learning put together by Dr. William Bauer for the FETC in Orlando, Florida on January 31, 2014. This page is an excellent resource to develop ideas for learning with technology in the classroom. Many of the programs are free, easy to use and applicable to many educational ideas.  

Musical Creativity in the Cloud is a Google Doc by Dr. William I. Bauer. It is a list of resources to integrate technology into the music classroom and encourage creative thinking. Each item on the list will facilitate organization, creativity, or music learning. Dr. Bauer comprised a list of fifty resources to integrate technology into the music classroom including notation software, cloud-based libraries, media players, and organizational tools.

This is a site that I use frequently. Not only does the site provide useful information regarding musical ensembles and private instructors for those who live within the institute's service region, but it also serves as a resource for videos and recordings of professional clarinet players students may use as models. Furthermore, the site contains a variety of sheet music for all band and orchestra instruments. Sheet music may be downloaded from the site, or entire libraries may be purchased on a CD containing pdf files. This site makes access to solo and other forms of music literature a breeze! 

Jazz packet from PBS that corresponds with the Ken Burns Jazz Series. Includes a "Listening to Jazz" worksheet for responding to jazz music.

A wonderfurl collection of .pdfs and mp3s for students and teachers who are studying music theory. Hosted by the Cleveland Institute of Music, there are hundreds of prime examples of music laid out by theory concepts such as scales, chords, forms, voicings, modulations, etc.

Tim Price provides free lessons on jazz improvisation, theory, and technique.  These lessons can translate to any instrument and provides a variety of topics for the beginning and advanced jazz player to digest.  The music can be opened in pdf form and printed for personal use.  I have used these exercises when teaching jazz theory and technique and is a great resource for jazz students

This great site is for music teachers interested in using or enhancing their use of technology in music education. Resources on how to get started with using technology in music education are included as well as specific lesson plans. These lesson plans cover areas such as general, choral and instrumental music. Teaching about sound creation and recording with students are just a few of the topics covered in the blog and podcast.

This resource offers countless creative ideas to incorporate technology into music classes. There are blog posts, podcasts, PDF articles, and references to other technology offerings. Overall, a great resource to gain some insight on projects and effective ways to use technology in your classroom and with your students.

Remember when Finale used to be able to import pdf files? PlayScore 2 is a great work-around. Music scanning software that includes the ability to export as a MusicXML file or MIDI file which can then be imported into programs such as Finale, Sibelius, to be edited, transposed, or re-arranged. ALSO - this is a great tech blog to follow / subscribe to.

This resource provides trumpet scales and etudes organized by key. They help to teach scales, arpeggios, technical facility, slurring, and more.

Wendy Higdon's website provides useful resources for the band classroom, including recruitment tactics, practice guides, and a blog with further guidance. This site is geared towards the elementary and secondary ensemble setting.

This website offers several different resources that any band director could find useful. The blogs section has a variety of posts detailing the experiences of other educators as well as the different techniques they employ in their classes. It also has a section for materials and different .pdf files that can be used as helpful resources for lesson plans.

This set of music books is completely free and in PDF format. In addition to that, there are videos that you can show in class or have your students view on their own at home. This is a great resource for a beginning band program that does not have a large budget. All resources are free to use, and it is based in solfege so it is easier to teach a whole room of beginners on different instruments.

This website has free arrangements of band music, written with beginning bands and band programs with low budgets in mind. Pieces can be downloaded as PDFs and you can download the condensed score, as well as individual parts for all of the instruments. Pieces are rated so it is easy to find music that will work for your students.
