This blog provides many applications for iPads in the choral classroom. It investigates Apple's "student-proof" technology, so that they don't get off task and use the iPad for other activities. It's a useful resource for anyone considering purchasing iPads.

This website provides resources especially suitable for the elementary music teacher. Downloadable music resources for purchase include graphics for music bulletin boards, awards and brag tags, music coloring sheets, exit tickets, games and activities and music decor bundles. Numerous and varied music education products featuring a full range of musical concepts are available. Products seem reasonably priced and may be a valuable resource for music educators.

Artie Almeida has a ton of free downloads to accompany not only her lessons that are in her books, but also free printables that can be used in many original lessons.  Many of her ideas are unique to other lessons I have seen around.

The resources are not very easy to sort through, but they are well worth it! Many songs and activities from Artie's books are included for free and there are countless resources to use in the classroom.

This is an important read for any teacher that primarily teaches minorities. This article is not directly focused on music education but is important to me in my teaching setting. Reading this encourages continuous reflection on how students can be active participants in their music education. It is important to allow students to bring their own experiences, culture, and musical preferences to the music classroom.

This is a great activity that provides age appropriate explanations of Dvorak's Symphony No. 9. There are also games and a glossary.

This website is easily searchable and has countless lesson plans available for free. You can also purchase a premium plan to get access to Orff arrangements and additional lesson plans.

Home to the percussion divisions of WGI (Winter Guard International). The site contains visual and audio media links and downloads, schedules, ticket information, and live webcast information for WGI "The Sport of the Arts." WGI is one of the fastest growing musical activities in the United States, comprised both student (scholastic) divisions and professional (independent) divisions. WGI has mission of providing the highest level of music education possible, constantly pushing and setting new musical standards.

This webquest engages students in a potential disscussion with a composer from a different era. This activity could also be adapted for exploration of current composers as well.

The website for the "President's Own" United States Marine Band includes many educational resources. Along with high quality recordings by a phenomenal ensemble, the site offers many other educational aspects, including three volumes of the marches of John Philip Sousa. The marches may be downloaded in PDF format and used by any ensemble. They include the scores, parts, and detailed information on each march. This is great to use in order to teach students about marches and their forms.
