Many libraries use the Overdrive mobile app for downloading eBooks, which is a useful service. We use it to put eBooks on Kindle for our kids. The user experience in that app for searching, however, is TERRIBLE.
I think this got flagged earlier but it's so potentially disruptive I wanted to tag it again. This kind of everyday "micro-financing" could make things like non contract mobile phones way more accessible to many more people.
I think it's a constant fragmentation and then consolidation, vacillating between the two, pendulum-like. IBM may do well to continue to complement Apple when they can, as in selling their services.
