"Perspecs is a new app that aims to provide users with three sides to every news story. On Monday through Friday the free Android and iPhone app offers a selection of articles about current topics in the news. The topics could be breaking news or they could be topics of a more evergreen nature like national education systems."

TL Virtual Cafe is an online community for teacher-librarians to connect and learn from each other. TL Virtual Cafe hosts numerous webinars and online discussions including a monthly show called TL News Night. TL News Night features conversations with experts from state library associations, an overview of "this month in libraries," and a tip, tool, or title of the month.

Quick Rubric is a new tool from the folks in Photos for Class. This is a new web based application that allows you to easily set up criterion-referenced rubrics to score your students performances and assignments. You can use Quick Rubric to create rubrics to help you assess things such as oral presentations, writing projects, reading comprehension, storytelling and many more. Rubrics are also proved to be of great help when grading students works especially essay and long narrative writing.

Some SMART Board tips... Most of them would be more useful at the elementary level, the quick checker was something new to me and the page recorder I've heard of but have not used yet.

An awesome new google app that could eliminate using doctopus and Gclass folders to farm out assignments and utilizing our school google accounts.

I reviewed the service last spring and thought that it was good as it doesn't rely on SMS/ text messaging. Just in time for the new school year WhatsDue released some updates."

"Jeopardy Rocks is a platform for building Jeopardy-style review games. I reviewed the service around this time last year. Just in time for the new school year Jeopardy Rocks released a couple of new features. You can now create an account on Jeopardy Rocks to save your games for later editing and re-use. You can also now save multiple games in your account. The previous version of Jeopardy Rocks did not have an account option."

Before, you were only able to create events or entries to remind you to do things but these 'reminders' were not always stable and they 'come and go'.
