PingPong is a very simple audience-response tool that enables quick interaction with a class using any device. Unlike Socrative or Kahoot, you don't need to create any questions within the app. PingPong is designed to be used alongside ad-hoc questions written on a whiteboard or as part of a PowerPoint presentation. The host creates a room (needs a Google or a Facebook login) and gets a room code. The audience can either access this room via the app, or via a web browser at : gogopp.com/en/web

Triventy uses a concept that will be familiar to anyone who has tried Kahoot or Quizizz. To play a Triventy quiz game the teacher projects the game questions at the front of the room and students answer the questions on their mobile devices or laptops. Points are awarded for answering correctly. Bonus points are awarded for answering quickly. Students join the quiz game by going to Triv.in and entering the game pin assigned to your game.

Formative is an online assessment tool that lets teachers set up questions which run on any device with a web browser (iPads, smartphones, laptops, iPod Touches, etc.)

"WhatsDue is a free service for sending due date reminders to students. The service sends push notifications to students' iOS and Android devices. I reviewed the service last spring and thought that it was good as it doesn't rely on SMS/ text messaging. Just in time for the new school year WhatsDue released some updates."

ForAllRubrics is another cool web tool for easily creating rubrics, checklists, and badges. The site provides a wide variety of interesting features for teachers including: the ability to score across different mobile devices, issue digital badges with evidence, view the status of your whole class at a glance, access assessment results on ForAllRubrics website, one click sharing of assessment results by email with students and parents and many more.

The Open Library is a collection of more than one million free ebook titles. The collection is cataloged by a community of volunteer online librarians. The ebooks in the Open Library can be read online, downloaded to your computer, read on Kindle and other ereader devices, and embedded into other sites. Some of the ebooks, like Treasure Island, can also be listened to through the Open Library.

"Slides from de Mobo is a very good app that allows you to remotely control your presentations using your iOS or Android device. Slides works best with presentations on Google Drive, Prezi, Slideshare, Scribd, Speakerdeck and Issuu. To be able to use the app, you will need to have both your phone and your computer under the same WiFi network."

Sketchlot is a free collaborative whiteboard service that works on any device that will work on a Chromebook, iPad, Android tablet, or any computer connected to the web. Sketchlot is designed for teacher and student use. Teachers create their own accounts and then inside that account they can create a list of students. Each student is assigned his or her own password to use to join a drawing shared by his or her teacher. Teachers can create as many drawings as they like and share them on an individual basis. Teachers can share their drawings to one or all of their students at a time. Students can create their own sketches to share back to their teachers through Sketchlot.

Splashtop Classroom is a great tool that allows teachers control and share lessons and presentations on their desktop with all students in class. Students will be able to see and follow everything you do on your desktop. With the recent updates, both teachers and students now can use whiteboard tools to add annotations and drawings to lesson content right from their own devices.
