The Webster's Dictionary defines "paradigm" as "an outstandingly clear or typical example or archetype." In the sense that we'll be using it, paradigm can be defined as a set of beliefs that guide action, in this case, beliefs about the nature of reality (ontology), the nature of knowledge (epistemology) and the role of values (axiology).
