US Congress passes authoritarian anti-protest law - 1 views

  •
A bill passed Monday in the US Congress and Thursday in the Senate would make it a felony-a serious criminal offense punishable by lengthy terms of incarceration-to participate in many forms of protest associated with the Occupy Wall Street protests of last year. Several commentators have dubbed it the "anti-Occupy" law, but its implications are far broader.

Kataeb and Ahrar students assaulted by police while protesting the new history book. - 5 views

  •
On Saturday March 10, 2012, the Lebanese Kataeb Student Sector organized a protest to the new history book proposed by the government. The book, which ignores the plight and sacrifices of a large slice of the Lebanese people throughout Lebanese history, the Kataeb included, was signed on by a government committee and was to enter a vote for its official recognition. Too bad the 64% turnout rate (as reported by the government) is probably inaccurate and completely fabricated
  •
possible. but why so sure about it? how would you know? how would any of us know?
  •
Of course you could say that, but let's be realistic here. It's a well-established fact that the 09 election was fraudulent and that polling data was fabricated.

I do not believe a single word said by the officials of that regime.
  •
I am not disagreeing but I just like to push people to question their beliefs and where they come from. In other words, acknowledge the 0.00001% chance that the elections were not fabricated and consider what that would actually mean.

I agree with you! It's always good to play devil's advocate and challenge what people say.
