Toronto startup Interaxon has landed its first venture capital infusion just months before it will launch its thought-controlled computing headset on the consumer market.

InteraXon is a start-up that has developed the largest thought-controlled computer interface experiment in human history. MaRS Discovery District has been working with InteraXon to develop and market it's products.

Visitors to the Ontario Pavilion at the Vancouver Winter Olympics will be able to control live light shows on Toronto's CN Tower, the Parliament buildings in Ottawa, and Niagara Falls, using only their thoughts. BNN speaks to Trevor Coleman, COO, InterAxon."

The Wall Street Journal reports on a highlight at the LeWeb conference in Paris: MaRS client and Canadian start-up, InteraXon's thought-controlled computing technology. Ben Rooney writes, "One of the most (no pun intended) thought-provoking presentations at the recent LeWeb conference in Paris was that by Ariel Garten, CEO of Toronto-based Interaxon."

Gizmodo gives MaRS client, Interaxon, some love over their thought-controlled installation at the Olympics in BC. Part of a demonstration of all the cool stuff that Canada has to offer in technology, this "Bright Ideas" installation used minds to control a light show at Niagara Falls.

CBC writes about highlights of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and the Canadian companies who were there. Specifically highlighted are MaRS client and tenant, XYZ Interactive, who works in gesture-controlled technologies as well as InteraXon, who works with thought-controlled computing.

Garten's headband is called Muse, a fashion-forward brainwave sensing wearable device which monitors and collects data from your brain and sends to your smartphone or tablet. Think this sounds like a concept we will see only in the future? Think again. This device is expected to hit the market later this year.
