History
We set out to create a site where a trip through time over the last 85 years from the 20's to today was both interesting and informative, and as the site has continued to evolve over the last two years we have tried to include cost of living, Prices, Events, Popular Social Culture, Inventions and changes to Technology. Harnessing the power of multi media in the form of videos found on YouTube to bring the last 85 years to life.
"If a picture is worth a thousand words then a modern history site providing 900 links to videos related to Events and popular culture from the 20's, 30's, 40's through to the 90's must be worth millions of words".
The site is split into decades and with each year with a dedicated page, there are also sections for Motoring, Homes, Computers, Clothes and Fashion and Music .
"Search the Web to learn more about the stories behind the stamps issued by the U.S. Postal Service commemorating the people, places, events, and trends of the 1960s. Explore Web sites related to Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon and Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech as well as the introduction of
the Ford Mustang and Roger Maris's 61st home run! Included:
An Internet scavenger hunt for students!"

Veengle could be a good way for students to create mini documentary film. My initial thought is that students in a history class to could create a "video timeline" of sorts by creating a compilation video that includes segments about important events within a particular era. For example, I might ask US History students to create a chronological compilation of videos about Civil War battles. This post originally appeared on Free Technology for Teachers.

"Teenangels are a group of thirteen to eighteen year old volunteers that have been specially trained in all aspects of online safety, privacy and security. After completion of the required training, the Teenangels run unique programs in schools to spread the word about responsible and safe surfing to other teens and younger kids, parents, and teachers.
They write columns for Web sites and become expert public speakers and researchers. They work with companies like Disney, Microsoft and AOL and are trained by law enforcement agencies; their tuition includes experience in making presentations to groups of students in schools and/or at community events.
Teenangels have even been to the House of Representatives in Washington D.C., for the WiredKids Summit, where they presented their research to a powerful and influential audience.
At the urging of our Teenangel volunteers, a special group of volunteers will be able to continue as Teenangels after they become eighteen years old and a new group of Tweenangels has been formed for those between seven and twelve years of age. "

"i-SAFE's education component provides students with dynamic, interactive, up-to-date e-Safety curriculum in the classroom, online and in the community. These prevention-oriented lessons employ peer-to-peer communication and cooperative learning activities to help students retain this valuable information. The Outreach component facilitates the extension of students' newly acquired e-Safety knowledge beyond the classrooms and introduces the entire community about the need to be safe online. Youth empowerment is the link. Students are encouraged to become student i-MENTORs who communicate the e-Safety message via peer-to-peer contact and exciting community-wide activities, events and rallies.
Certification is not required to teach the lessons. However, an i-SAFE Professional Development Program (PDP) - face-to-face or online through the i-LEARN video modules - is recommended to update educators on the specific topics covered in the curriculum. Attending a PDP or completing i-LEARN online is required for an educator to train others as an i-SAFE Certified Trainer."

Understanding Anxiety
It helps us get out of harm's way and prepare for important events, and it warns us when we need to take action.
But you may experience anxiety that is persistent, seemingly uncontrollable, and overwhelming. If it's an excessive, irrational dread of everyday situations, it can be disabling. When anxiety interferes with daily activities, you may have an anxiety disorder.
The term "anxiety disorder" refers to generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder (also called social phobia), and specific phobias.
Facts and Statistics
Anxiety disorders are the most common psychiatric illnesses affecting children and adults. An estimated 40 million American adults suffer from anxiety disorders. Only about one-third of those suffering from an anxiety disorder receive treatment, even though they are highly treatable.
