Campus Bird is a free site designed to help students locate a college that fits their needs and wants. The site offers all of the usual selection criterion like major, location, campus size that you find on most college search sites. The differentiating aspect of Campus Bird is that they have embedded a Google Maps view of all of the colleges in their index. Once you have selected your search criteria you can quickly view the location of each college and explore the surrounding area. In some cases you will be taken to a virtual tour of a college's campus. Campus Bird says that it is working on adding more virtual tours to their database.

Based on your input below a list of objects will be produced that are visible at your location when you plan to observe. Any object below the local horizon will be excluded. On the next page you will see details about each object. You can then research any object of interest with the links provided. It is my intention to provide a sample of what you will see in the eyepiece of a 6" telescope. "Nestled between two of the three mountains that make up the Peaks of Otter is the Peaks of Otter Lodge and Restaurant, located at Milepost 86 on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Bedford, Virginia, and open year round. "The Bedford Volunteer Fire Department is located in the City of Bedford, VA approximately 25 miles east of Roanoke and 20 miles west of Lynchburg. Organized in 1888, the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department was Bedford City and County's only organized fire protection until 1952. With a first due response area of 182 square miles; the largest first due response area in Bedford County, the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department remains the busiest fire department each year.
