This page is an index to Geoscience Australia's National/International scale datasets and applications that are available online. Datasets provided are in the areas of energy, environmental, geochemistry, geochronology, geodesy, geomagnetism, geology, geophysics, earthquakes, landslides, floods, nuclear monitoring, marine and coastal, minerals, pertoleum, satellite imagery, and topography.

Database with extensive links to government agencies with data sets on the themes of agriculture, environment, chemistry, climate, biodiversity, economy, society, geography, history for the UK and specifically Scotland. Data is in a variety of formats.

This WMS is the national database of Australia. It will allow you to view and make maps with a diversity of layers. It features two WMS bundles of themes; with WMS URLs: "http://www.ga.gov.au/wms/getmap?dataset=national&request=capabilities" is for National Geoscience Datasets, and "http://mapconnect.ga.gov.au/wmsconnector/com.esri.wms.Esrimap?Version=1.1.1&Request=getcapabilities&Service=WMS&Servicename=GDA94_MapConnect_SDE_250kmap_WMS&" is for National Topographic Datasets (Jim P., July 2009).

The database has data in the areas of population, poverty, land cover, land form, base data, elevation, rainfall, biodiversity, wildlife, tourism, water, irrigation, hydropower, other data (biomass, water distribution, market centers, and charcoal sources). No account needed.

This data can be found at the national level and state level. Use the LCENVS account. All data is downloaded in the E00 format.
