About Edmodo is a private micro-blogging platform built for use by teachers and students for use in the classroom. The problem with traditional web 2.0 tools in a k-12 classroom environment is concerns over privacy of the students. Edmodo has been built with the privacy of students in mind. Edmodo provides a way for teachers and students to share notes, links, and files. Teachers also have the ability to send, alerts, events, and assignments to students. Edmodo also has a public component built by allowing at the teachers discretion to post any item to a public timeline at the teacher's discretion.

I really got a kick out of Meet Me At The Corner, mostly because of the kid video reporters. The kid hosts take you on video tours of historic and cultural sites. I'm actually heading down this path with Kid's Eye View bloggers, like Adora Svitak, who posts frequently at the ERT. It really is a joy watching and listening to kids professionally sharing good quality material-using video. Great example of how students took it upon themselves to create visual notes illustrating the process of how an artificial tree is made. The post also provides an insightful TED Talk on the subject of sketchnotes and why "Doodling" is a positive thing.

Kathy Schrock wrote this post providing insight on how to use integrate technology while challenging students to think critically. Kathy provides examples of lesson plan approaches and the analyzing assessments one could use in each lesson.

Great blog post from Ginger Lewman highlighting an PBL lesson for those learning to design engaging curriculum.

I learned of Twine from Richard Byrne's Free Technology 4 Teachers blog post. It is great to see an opensource option that one can download and run locally or remain on the web to write.

This post does a nice job of explaining what an "Exit card" would be if integrated into the classroom as a form of assessment.

From Free Technology For Teachers - This blog post features a short video created by Minute Physics on how modern light bulbs work and how the design has changed over the last 100+ years. it also provides applications for classroom use.
