Who are we? We are Mathletes! Actually, we are TeenMathletes. I know you are probably wondering what a mathlete is. Well, a mathlete is someone who plays competitve math. I know that proabbly sounds funny. But we see ourselves as athletes who compete in math instead of sports. Who would think that math could be competitive - well it is very competitive and we take it very serious. Not too serious of course . :D

"Feds release cyber safety booklet" A new booklet released by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other government agencies helps parents and teachers steer kids safely through the online and mobile-phone worlds. The booklet, titled "Net Cetera: Chatting with Kids About Being Online," was unveiled Dec. 15 at Jefferson Middle School in Washington, D.C., by FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski. At the middle school, which is known for its emphasis on science and technology, the officials met with students and teachers to discuss online safety.

The School that launched a thousand iPads: A 1:1 iPad High School

"iPads have been purchased and have arrived for this 2011/2012 school year. It is always our intention of providing the necessary professional development for new and innovative technologies. This wiki is the plan for just that. Ideally we would buy an iPad for every student. Well, unfortunately that is not financially possible at this time. Therefore, we've ordered just a few here and there. Our goal this year is to form a research and development group that is willing to learn all about the iPads and how they can be effectively used in the classrooms. This group will research apps that match the Common Core Standards, try the apps out with their students, then record their reflections. The research of this group will be available online via a Google Presentation similar to the one linked here. "
