this video is of Joel Burns talking about how he was bullied and how its a serious matter with the recent deaths that have been happening and his message of 'it gets better' just speaks volumes to those who are being bullied and those who can stop it.

This is a TED talk about placing computers in countries where children to not have access to teachers. In doing this, the children become their own teachers by pure interest in the computer, and in the end, they learn just as much, if not more, than children who have access to adult teachers.

From the authors' abstract: "The purpose of this study was to examine the practices of two teachers who had chosen to use the social network site (SNS) Ning to create online classrooms as supplements to their physical classrooms in order to bridge the self and school-selected literacies of adolescents. The study further aimed to identify whether the ways in which the teachers were using the SNS constituted a new literacy practice and if so in what ways. It supports and adds to the new literacies theory in four ways: 1. by revisiting the notion of what constitutes literacy, 2. by identifying attributes that do and do not constitute new literacies, 3. by supporting the view that new technologies do not automatically correspond to new literacies, and 4. by showing that new technologies may end up devaluing other modes of learning."

For those of you who are thinking about theories of "play" and how they relate to technology, this is really interesting: "A professor at USC shares video from a recent meeting that brought together artists, educators, researchers, and technology experts to discuss "tinkering" for learning in the digital age."

In this article I have read was Understanding Multimedia Learning: Integrating multimedia in the K-12 classroom. I came across this article when I was messing around on the Brain Pop site. As I was reading through this article they pointed out that the students in K-12 are different in the way that they are "Digital Natives." They use this term as to describe who has grown up with technology verses people that have not. This describes the people who have never known of a world without technology.

The video "Soylent is People! Word Processor Plugin Crowdsources Your Editing," is all about an editing software called Soylent that many people use. It is an internet based editing program that you pay to use each time you use it. You have to pay each time because you are paying people to review your paper in a more thorough way than a different editing software would.

This article addresses the best way to integrate of computers into early childhood programs

Kindergarten teacher Chris Gathers tells about his experiences integrating technology into the learning experience of his students. He first teaches the children how to use the mouse and eventually progresses to making simple art projects and writing on the computer. The kindergarten students gain independence and confidence in themselves and their use of technology

This article talks about the pros and cons of using technology to help children learn in their classroom and how different technologies affect the developing minds of young children, whether good or bad.

Sarah M. Butzins article, Integrating Technology into The Classroom: Lessons from The Project CHILD Experience, claims that Project CHILD helps students learn to be independent workers and how to work effectively in groups by developing skills to help themselves and each other when the teacher is unavailable. Butzin realizes that it is uncommon for teachers to want to learn how to implement technology into the classroom and curriculum, but by having three main teachers who each specialize in one subject- reading, math, and language arts- they are able to become experts in utilizing technology and software into their area of expertise.

This article talks about how teachers are uncomfortable with the advancements in technology, and how long it could possibly take them to get caught up.

Teachers' casual attributions is one of the mechanisms by which teachers' expectations are converted into the way the student achieves in their classroom. They state that students' achievement in the classroom vary with casual attributions with highly achieved students than lower achieved students. It is crucial that teachers' attributions and how they affect the children's attributions in the classroom.

This author makes many arguments like the author does in my second Annotation. For example, he or she describes or teachers should create a separate Facebook profile for their work from their personal life in order to help manage privacy settings. Keeping a separate profile helps teachers keep their personal lives private.

As I was looking for articles to do more research on my topic, I came upon an article that seemed to have a good amount of information that could be helpful to my research. A question that was asked in the article was whether or not all this technology that is being used in classrooms could be giving kids anxiety.

This website is made of a survey done by The National Campaign. This sight has all of the facts. The articles states that this "sexting is the new craze" . These students aren't even high school. I like this website because it gives me facts of the people in this world, I know it is a small survey compared to the entire world but they are good statistics to work with. There is a movie called The Odd Girl Out. This movie portrays how harmful this subject is. This teenage girl starts high school and "makes friends". She soon finds out that these friends are fakes. She chops her hair off, she over doses on sleeping medication all because these "friends" are calling her fat and other degrading words.

Why teachers are drawn to using Multiple intelligences Theory in their Classrooms", Leslie Owens describes how many teachers are attracted to the fact that they are able to teach and children can learn in different ways. Teachers like the Multiple Intelligence Theory because it "aids teachers in easily creating more personalized and diverse instructional experiences", "offers teacher assistance in helping students become empowered learners by extending and promoting cognitive bridging techniques based on the seven intelligences: by fostering deep metacognitive understanding; and by advancing suggestions for a broad array of diversified study skills techniques.

Annotation: Benefits of Using Multimedia in Education, and "Kids views on technology in the classroom" On this website, Benefits of Using Multimedia in Education, it states many benefits of using technology within the classroom from the professor's point of view as well as the student's perspective. It states how educators believe that "multimedia tools provide students with opportunities to represent and express their prior knowledge" and "empower students to create and design rather than absorbing representations created by others". These observations are seen through researches that have been made on other websites and are linked right next to each statement of observation and benefit. Furthermore, it shows how multimedia tools benefit students work from "four perspectives: 1) as researchers, they must locate and select the information needed to understand the chosen topic;2) as authors, they must consider their intended audience and decide what amount of information is needed to give their readers an understanding of the topic;3) as designers, they must select the appropriate media to share the concepts selected; and 4) as writers, they must find a way to fit the information to the container including the manner of linking the information for others to retrieve(Smith,1993)".
