    ANNOTATION #3

This piece was on some of the effects of SMS messaging has on literacy. It shows instant messaging can be productive in literacy. Kids use creative phonetic substitutions in texting and can be very resourceful in writing. It also shows the collaborative way of communication everyone is using. Peers are always talking and working off eachother.

Annotation: Digital Media, Youth and Credibility

For the past six weeks, we have been studying a new form of education and how we can incorporate new ways into schools today. New ways include technology, digital media and the internet to help kids learn at a more productive way. This piece is telling me how much potential we have to obtain these new ways of educating. We have so much to work with and more to learn about now. We do not have to learn by the traditional strategies, but new and improved strategies. This poses a problem. What strategies will be acceptable in education? How will we maintain credibility through these new ways of the media environment? Answering these questions will lead to a whole new way of education. When we are able to separate the misleading and false documents on the internet, or in any form of digital media, we will be able to tap into a whole new way of learning.
I think this article really goes well with the ciriculum we are learning. Our generation is growing fast. Change is underway and we need to embrace this change with some caution. It is a great new way to learn and educate our selves, but it is new and the credibility of some sources are not always there. Once we are able to find out these credible sources, our potential will only grow. I believe we are already able to find the correct information on the internet and throughout digital media. I know what sites our out for personal investment and those that are out there for me to learn. This shows me that our digital age has already begun and is something that will continue to grow.
This is perfect for our research. We can use this article to prove our potential for digital education. There are just so many resources we are ignoring if we do not accept digital media as a form of education. There are so many opportunities we are missing if we choose to exclude this from our classrooms. Credibility is also a factor in our research. How can we make our new for of learning acceptable? Well this is all we must do to solidify digital media and technology as a valid learning option. We must prove and find out these credible sources and use only those. We will only benefit from using credible sources. Credible sources are the ones that teach us something, help us find our way, the correct way. I hope that digital media survives and I am confident it will.

This is a very interesting and informative article. I was interested in how texting can affect a students literacy level and this piece answered all my questions. Research has been done to prove that texting does not negate students' literacy levels. Professors all over the world accept the new form of communication and are willing to use it in the classroom
