Finger Math uses an abacus-like finger counting method called “chisenbop.” With this method it is possible to display all numbers from 0 to 99 with both hands. Finger Math works on the iPad by detecting the “touch” position of all 10 fingers. The fingers are pressed onto the iPad to indicate value.

The Conversation Coach is designed to help players learn the back and forth flow of normal conversation. Typically, most low and high-tech communication tools only enable one-way conversations. For example, a student might point to a picture of an apple, and then he receives an apple. There is no normal back and forth exchange. Using the Conversation Coach, you can keep the volley going.When playing the Conversation Coach, two players sit facing each other with the iPad between them. The first player chooses something to say, then passes the ball to the other side. Choices for player 2 will appear oriented such that player 2 can read them.For students who are not ready for back and forth conversations, or for individuals who need to use the Conversation Coach to make statements, there is a one way mode available. My son who has autism loves this program. We use the full version to write custom conversations about his daily activities. He actually enjoys helping us to write the conversations, take photos and record his voice. After practicing with the Conversation Coach, he is able to remember the conversations and use them without the iPad. The Lite version has a few samples to give you an idea of the back and forth flow, but you really need the full version so that you can customize conversations for each individual.
