  •
Has the Internet made us dumber and simply become an external storage device for our brains? Larry Greenemeir, writing in a Scientific American article, speculates that "with Google, Internet Movie Database and Wikipedia at beck and call via smartphones, tablets and laptops, the once essential function of committing facts to memory has become little more than a flashback to flashcards."

Smart Homes: 4 Potential Problems You May Run Into - 1 views

  •
This article addresses many of the potential problems with the development of smart homes. Particularly, there is a mention of the differing (and therefore competing) protocols in use by different manufacturers. This means that many products may be incompatible, although it is possible that vendors will "provide point-to-point connections between individual devices".
  •
Thanks for sharing this article. After read it I now am considering the time and efficiency that come with a cloud system. For instance, what if you want a smart home in the country? will you have to compromise due to the slowness of the internet? To add it also agrees with my idea that companies are competing too much and as so there is little to no way to use two different providers without problems.

It's 2013: why aren't more people teleworking? - 0 views

  •
I found this Very Interesting, I can see how working at home has it's benefits, however I feel you'd get more done at work, as your in a working environment and so more stimulated. Even if you don't do as much you would be more active. funnily this is like the difference between a house cat and an outdoor cat. It all about the environment you live in, and work in.
  •
Agree! there are some limitations with teleworking.I also think you will miss the social life of working from an office
