This webiste is great!!! It is the most realible out of all the other websites I chose to do. It provides a brief summary over stuff like how the war got started, background of the war, outbreak of the civil war and the Emancipation Proclamation. Plus it has a huge number of videos to view and help the user understand the subject better.
Content and Design:
The content of this website is just tip-top and the audience is for anyone that is wanting to know more about the great Civil War. The videos are simple enough that a elementry kid could get the basic idea of it but also is filled with enough facts that a high school kid could get what they and probably be satisfied. The design is very simple and easy to navigate. They have the videes to watch at the top of the page and the reading is just a bit down the page. Plus there are a few links that a user could explore at the bottom of the page so they can explore more into the website.

Student News Daily
Overview:
Student News Daily is a fabulous current events site for high school students to become readers of the news. The founders set up the website with a goal to "to build students' knowledge of current events and strengthen their critical thinking skills…in a manageable format." Using the site gives great references and information to students in a very easy to navigate way. Teachers will also be impressed with the format and many links to other useful current events websites.
Content:
The user of this site is able to identify right away that the content is current events. The site is updated daily. The intended audience is stated clearly under the "About Us" tab: "StudentNewsDaily.com is a non-profit current events website for high school students." The directional tabs are organized and easy to navigate and teachers will also appreciate the easy and manageable format. Student News Daily has six main categories which would be quite useful and could easily be incorporated into weekly current event lesson planning:
* Daily News Article
* Daily Best of The Web
* Tuesday's World Briefs
* Wednesday's Biased Item
* Thursday's Commentary
* Friday's News Quiz
In addition to main categories the site also provides other current events items including: editorial cartoons, quick takes and a quote of the week.
Design:
The homepage downloads efficiently, is easy to read, extremely navigable and updated daily. Directions for use are clear and easy to follow and the content areas are labeled and very well organized. The site incorporates the use of multimedia via weekly videos, daily cartoons and links which makes a huge contribution to the site as an up to date portal for global current events. The design and purpose of the site is to educate and the content presentation which is inclusive of questions and answers makes it very doable for students to learn

Overview:
This site was great for learning facts on Mount Rushmore by watching informational videos, and furthering learning about the faces carved on the rock. The intended audience for this site ranges from children in 3rd grade to 8th grade. There were also many available resources that would help continuing education on the subject. I was very impressed with this site because it offered great information, it was appealing, and I trusted the information presented.
Content:
The content on this site was very useful. The information quality and ways to further information was outstanding for this site. The information was valid on the subject and the links to other sites were worthwhile and contained very useful facts. However, the information currency was not the best for this particular website. There was no available revision date so there was no way of knowing if the information was updated regularly or of the latest revision date is applicable to the material. The site also did not have available authors of the material.
Design:
The design aspect of this website was exceptional. The speed of loading the home page was great and I was able to easily navigate throughout the site. This site was very appealing to the eye and the graphics on each page was useful and contributed to the learning that occurred here. There was great content on this site and there were also sites available to continue leaning. However, the date that the site was last revised was not easily seen and so I had no idea if the information was present.
Overview:
This site is designed to teach the public about the Republican Party. It shows what the republican believes in and how they affect politics. The Republican National Committee sponsors and writes the website to inform people about the Republican Party and to also teach others what the republican national party does. I would defiantly use this site to learn more about the Republican Party and what they stand for.
Content:
The site gives includes information about the party. The site shows what the party believes in, news about the party, videos, and shows you how to become a member. The site is very reliable because it the information on the site comes straight from the National Committee. The site also gives the copyright information. The site has lots of information on the Republican Party and it shows it in an effective way.
Design:
The site is very eye appealing. It is easy to navigate the site; it gives clear titles to help you figure out where you want to go. This site is very well designed.
Overall: I am not exactly sure as to the overall purpose of the website is. The information that I used for the webquest was chemistry related whereas most of the website has youtube videos associated to many different things. It is a blog so it is most likely intended for a broad audience. I am not impressed with any aspect of the site.
Content: The content of the website is not clear in any way shape or form. There is scattered information about multiple subjects throughout the website (blog). There is little information that is useful. Most of what is given is very recreational.
Design: The design of this website is also very poor along with the content. It is very hard to navigate. There is no official table of contents. There is a list of archives, but not a list of relative topics. There are no links to relative topics, and there is not anything to help you navigate through the site either. Very poorly designed.
Overview: The website examines the holiday near Halloween known as Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It adds new historical information that is expanded upon more than in other sources I found. This information explains the progression of the tradition from the ancient Aztecs era to contemporary times, while also examining the global expansion and adaptation of these cultural practices. This would be helpful to a student of Spanish to more deeply explain how this tradition came to be and how it continues to change over time. There are extensive videos and layers of the site to explore if the student wants to gain further understanding. I would use this site with my future students.
Content and Design: The layout of the website does not have a strong eye appeal, however there is an abundance of useful and fun information available. The author is listed, but there is not a way to contact them on this page. The site is fairly easy to access, however the other sections are in a box that is about half way down the page on the side, so easily overlooked. The information is recent, however not updated frequently. There is a large amount of information available here, though the design could be improved.

Overview:
This website is designed to help young kids learn about plants, soil, sun, and how they all relate to one another and to us as humans. Some of the helpful activities on this website are coloring activities, videos, recipes that use fresh fruits and veggies, games, advice for gardening, diagrams, questions and answers segment, and various articles. This site is very easy to navigate and I found it very useful when needing information about plants and the benefits they provide for humans.
Content and Design:
The content on this site was easy to understand and relevant as to why it was created. The information on this site is accurate and up to date. This site explains how plants use soil, light, and different components of the atmosphere to help themselves and other organisms, such as humans and animals, around them. It is very easy to move around and find various activities on this site. The layout and design is easy to navigate and use but could use some improvements.
