Holly Page October 14, 2012 Overview: The website entitled "Mr. Anker's Tests" was created for teachers and students. The website covers all content areas in grades k-7. The site is filled with activities that support California State and the Common Core State Standards. The site provides link with additional resources for outside information. The links provide information in math, social studies, science, reading, vocabulary, literature, and Spanish. I found the site very useful for my particular needs. I think this website would be very useful in a variety of subject areas for online exploration. Content: I thought that the website was pretty self-explanatory from looking at the homepage. I had no trouble identifying the audience and content of the website. The author is clearly identified (a biography of the author is provided giving credibility to the site) and available to contact at any time. It was difficult for me to verify how current the website was due to the lack of a revision date. The information seemed up-to-date and the links on the site were current and fully functioning. It was clear upon entering the site that it is used for educational purposes. The content supports the intended purpose and is complete. The site was well organized and seemingly free of bias. The games included on the site were interactive and seemed accurate to the best of my knowledge. The site was professional with correct spelling and grammar. Design: The site's homepage downloaded efficiently and was well organized; easily orienting it's users. The creator of the site and contact information was provided. There was no copyright date anywhere within the website. I found it easy to navigate the webpages within the site; directions and external links were provided and well functioning. There were graphics and games (these made a significant contribution to the website). "Mr. Anker's Tests" had plenty of information that was clearly labeled and consistent. A

Overview: The website, Buzzle, has more than enough information for anything. It could be used for any school project or paper. The website is intended for high school students all the way to college. It also had external links for websites of similar information. Content: The content could be laid out a little better but the content makes up for it. There is an almost endless amount of information on every subject for school or otherwise. The authors and there contact information is there. This website would be intended for older students above middle school since it is not the easiest to navigate. Design: The design they have is plain and doesn't catch the eye very well. Though it useful in the information part.

Content and Design: Overall this website is easy to use. It is attractive to the eye and can be easily navigated based on icons. The content of the website is current and the functions, such as graphing and calculating, are accurate. Overview: This site is intended for homework help for students but could easily be used by teachers for examples. It is an online calculator that will show graphs, calculate problems, and show limits. It is a great website for the student that might not have a scientific calculator, or even for a teacher that doesn't want to take the time to figure out the problem. It is more advanced than most calculators I have worked with. I think it is a great resource for anyone.

Hailey Dudley 10/15/12 Overview: This site was great for learning facts on Mount Rushmore by watching informational videos, and furthering learning about the faces carved on the rock. The intended audience for this site ranges from children in 3rd grade to 8th grade. There were also many available resources that would help continuing education on the subject. I was very impressed with this site because it offered great information, it was appealing, and I trusted the information presented. Content: The content on this site was very useful. The information quality and ways to further information was outstanding for this site. The information was valid on the subject and the links to other sites were worthwhile and contained very useful facts. However, the information currency was not the best for this particular website. There was no available revision date so there was no way of knowing if the information was updated regularly or of the latest revision date is applicable to the material. The site also did not have available authors of the material. Design: The design aspect of this website was exceptional. The speed of loading the home page was great and I was able to easily navigate throughout the site. This site was very appealing to the eye and the graphics on each page was useful and contributed to the learning that occurred here. There was great content on this site and there were also sites available to continue leaning. However, the date that the site was last revised was not easily seen and so I had no idea if the information was present.

Hailey Dudley 10/15/12 Overview: This site was great to find out the different tours and important information you should know about while planning a visiting Mount Rushmore. The purpose of this site was to inform people about the park and what you can do while visiting the monument. Audience for this site could range anywhere from children in 3rd grade to adults. There were many available resources to help learn more about Mount Rushmore. My overall impression of this site was that the site looked really good and it was easy to navigate through. Content: The content of this site was very outstanding. I was able to quickly identify what the site was about and I could easily see that the information was current and updated frequently. Furthermore, there was a plethora of good information, not only about the history of Mount Rushmore, but also about the park information as well. I was able to further my information on the monument by navigating the other links on the site. The only thing that the site didn't include was the information about the author and therefore, I could not tell if the writer was qualified or not. Design: The design of the site was remarkable. Everything from the speed of the homepage to the availability of furthering information was included in the website. I could easily navigate through the site and its look was very appealing. The site was very current and the content of the website was very informative and interesting. This site could not have gotten any better with their design.

Hailey Dudley 10/15/12 Overview: This site had many important informational purposes for people who are trying to learn more about Mount Rushmore. The purpose of this site was to enlighten students on the history of Mount Rushmore through a series of interactive flashcards. This website was designed for children ranging from 3rd grade to 8th grade who want to further their knowledge of Mount Rushmore. The information on this site is really good; however there are no available resources to continue the informational search on Mount Rushmore. My impression of this site was that it included really strong information on the subject but there was really no way of furthering your learning once you were done with the flashcards. Content: The content on this site had both good and bad aspects about it. At first look, the website was very clear on who it was intended for, as well as what was to be expected to learn from the site. This site was very unclear on who the information providers were. It did not state an author or the sponsor of the site. The informational currency and ways to further information was very poor as well. There was no way to find the latest revision date and there was no links to other sites. However, the information quality of this site was excellent. It was very organized and the information was valid to the subject. Design: The design of this webpage was decent. The homepage was able to download with great speed and the home page was very appealing to the eye. However, there was no information of the sponsor or the copyright date. Because of this, the site had no available date of last revision. This site also had no way of furthering education of Mount Rushmore because there were no other links. What was really exceptional on this site was the ease of navigation and the content that was presented.

Jacqueline Collins 10/15/12 Overview This site is designed to teach students about many different subjects. It is easy to navigate and gives a lot of different subjects to explore. The page I used was about the presidents and it gave a plethora of information about each president and more links to find more information. The site is a good starting point for any school related research; I will defiantly use this site again to research more information for lesson plans as well as a starting point for my own research. Content: It is creditable and the site has a lot of information, the copyright information is all provided. There is a lot of information about different subjects all are easily accessible to students and easy for them to understand. The site gives a lot of links to allow access to even more information on various topics. Design: The site is eye appealing and is very easy to navigate. It gives a lot of different ways to find the information you are looking for.

Overview The purpose of this site is to be a public online library/digital archive with access to information and images that are public domain. The intended audience is anyone as it is an online library with a search bar that enables anyone to search for what they wish. This site allows visitors to browse through the collections catalog or type in a search into the search bar and it also allows for people/contributors to share their collections after the creators/sponsors of the site review their submission. Content and design This is a good site to use if you know specifically what you are looking for and can search for it in the search bar at the top of the site. Browsing through the collections catalog and exploring other aspects of the site can be slightly difficult to find what you are looking for. Some of the links to information or content the site claims to have don't function correctly. The design of the site could use some improvement because there seems to be no organization on the main page, but overall this site could be a useful place to look for information on a certain topic of interest.

Queen Elizabeth Allison Cetak 10/11/12 Overview This website's subject matter is Queen Elizabeth as well as the culture surrounding the entirety of her reign over England. The audience is anyone who is a student of history or literature and is interested in learning more about Queen Elizabeth and Elizabethan culture. The purpose of this site is to give readers and historians peer reviewed and historically accurate information about this time period by supplying them with facts backed up with examples, real life application, and historical points where instances have occurred. This website contains highly specific and accurate information that is regularly updated as new information comes to light. Also, the organization, clarity of content, and supported information makes this site a great resource for someone seeking to further his or her knowledge of Queen Elizabeth and Elizabethan England. Content This website is the best website I have seen relating information about Queen Elizabeth. The content is accurate, thorough, and contains new information that I did not know. Also, the content loads quickly, educates viewers without adding extra information, and is grammatically and syntactically correct. The content is regularly updated and dates when the updates take place are included. Lastly, the author of the site is identified and is available to be contacted with questions, concerns, or comments. Design This website is extremely well designed. The site contains a variety of information relating to Queen Elizabeth. The best part of the site is that it guides viewers through Elizabeth's entire rule over England, from beginning to end while putting information into timely context. By designing the site this way, it allows for easy processing for viewers. Again, the revision dates are readily available which means that the content is current and accurate. Due to the timeline style organization, it is extremely easy to navigate through and navigation is

Melanie Hays 10-10-12 Overview: The purpose of the website is to provide viewers with answers to trivia questions. It seemed to be well-organized and the information was sufficient and related to my purposes. All of the information found seemed to be up to date as well. Overall: The purpose of this site is to help learners in certain subjects of science.  It has a lot of information about multiple subjects of science, along with a lot of diagrams to guide students in the subjects that the help is needed for.  It gives links that add insight to the subject in question, and describes everything clearly.  I was very impressed with the content in which this website contained.   Content: The content within this website is very helpful and it contains a lot of information for learners interested in the sciences.  It has information for Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, Physics, etc.  And it even has interactive animations for each subject.  It has links to other sites in case the information provided is not helping as well.  Content wise this is a very well put together website. Design: The overall design is a little bland, but it also is very easy to navigate.  There is a table of contents and everything is "self-explanatory".  When you navigate to one section of the website it keeps the table of contents along with it so that you can navigate from any part of the website.  There is a help button just in case you get lost as well.

4th Grade Clearview - Civil War - 0 views

  •
Madison Hamblen Revised: 10.15.12 Overview: This website was created in order to help people study facts about the American Civil War in flash card format. The intended audience is for fourth grade students in Virginia that are preparing for the state standardized tests. There are no available resources that can link the user to other informational pages. My impressions of this website are that it is an educational link providing an activity to help students reinforce information they should have previously been taught. Content: The content within this website is similar to that in others regarding the facts about the American Civil War. Other websites have the same type of information and key points. The content is relevant to information fourth graders are expected to be tested on during their state standardized tests. The content is also easy to understand because it is on a very basic reading level at which is compatible with the intended audience. Design: The design of the website is boring due to the fact that it is just an activity and not a website meant for entertainment. It is very cut and dry with the way the site distributes information. Since the students can read both sides of the card at the same time, the website is simply a reading experience in flashcard form. The navigation process is easy because the only thing to do on this website is switch from one card to another. This site is worth visiting because no matter how much the student knows, the cards will always give them the answer. If they are always given the answer, then they are guaranteed to learn something.

Roman Colosseum - 1 views

Bryan Martin 10/15/2012 Overview: The purpose of this site is to educate the reader about Ancient Roman history. This site is a great resource and is appropriate for most ages, however some mature content is available when in the gladiatorial and emperor sections of the site. Content: There is a wealth of information on this site about a variety of subjects. Information is organized logically, and is easy to access. There is an alarming and noticeable lack of additional links and source materials or citations, and the author has no indication of expertise in the field. Design: The design of the site is good, however the button style navigation can take some getting used to if one is used to sidebar style. There is a lot of period art and illustration on the site, however there is a noticeable lack of multimedia and modernization. The beige theme of the site is also somewhat bland, and the in site ads can be a little hard to distinguish from content.
