Content: This website's purpose is easily determined. As I am interested in being a science teacher, it is a great and valuable educational website for the teaching of photosyntesis. The author is actually an educational company titled Andrew Rader Studios. It is a company that displays alot of different scientific information, and there are various emails that are availalble to ask questions regarding content and or program use. The last time this website was revised was this past year 2009, the content diplays current knowledge regarding many different science topics. There are links to several other websites that all open and are available to further education if needed. It is a strictley educational website for the use of teaching science topics and providing visuals to assist in learning. There is previous knowledge form multiple sources and it is a great website for teachers to utilize as it is grade appropriate for several kids. This website is very valuable for me as a science teacher! It has so many interactive qualitites and if I had a smart board this website would be a great interactive learning tool. Design: The web page was easily accessible and it downloaded very quickly. The homepage displays all of the content in the other tabs, it is very clear and directive for the user as well as efficient in locating the science subject that one would like to teach. It is up to date and compatable on interenet explorere mozilla firefox and safri. All of the multimedia qualities are appropriate and not obnocious, and there are web links that help with the relativity to the age group. There is lots of visual descriptions, which in teaching science is a great way to teach the content. Attribution: My overall impression of this website is a positive one. The audience is for studetns, and also teachers. it is very clear as far as what links lead you where and so forth. This website provides a comprehensive explaination of different time periods in art history. Content: This website has easy acess to different periods in the history of art. when you click on a time line, the site gives you a range of years, then different countries that you can click on to get what was happening in that particular country at that time in the history of art. The website is fairly easy to understand and navigate. The information is credible, it comes from a museum website. It also provides the veiwer with a detailed bibliography. This would be a great website for high school students to learn about where art has been, where it is today, and where it is going. The information found on this site will help students write papers with a credible source.

Creative Writing Lesson Plans - 0 views

  •
Posted by Kate Guerrieri 9/18/2009 Title of web page: The English Teacher- Lesson Plans for a Creative Writing Course Content: This website offers an entire 13 week lesson plan for teaching a creative course. The lesson plan is broken up into different sections that a teacher would cover for the 13 weeks. Each section covers a different topic and offers links to other websites that offer additional information or examples. There are writing prompt ideas and ideas for different assignments a teacher might consider using. If it meets all the state requirements of a teacher's location, it would be a good source to use for developing a lesson plan. If not, it is a general guide for what a creative writing lesson plan should look like. Design: This web site is split into thirteen sections, in correlation for the weeks that the lesson plan is made for. Each section has a description of what is being taught and ideas on how to teach it. There are examples and links in each section. It is easy to navigate and user friendly. Attribution: The site seems credible. Anyone can use this information as long as they cite the page. I couldn't find the copy write information on the actual page but it is part of a larger website that would have it.

Homework Help - MSN Encarta - 0 views

Content: This website is also designed for all kinds of homework help in numerous subjects. They have different kinds of references, tutoring, and levels, although it looks mainly for upper level (high school and college) students, so for elementary children would find some difficulty using. I do feel like there is quite a bit of ad space taking up pages, so visually it becomes overwhelming. Design: The design of this website is good overall, because it looks organized and clear. It is easy for students to look up what they need research on, but any free space given is taken up by ads. I think that getting rid of all these advertisements would sure make this website more efficient in providing a positive and productive learning environment. Attributes: The purpose of this site is to help student's understand what they are bringing home for homework and research. It's a supplement to the textbooks they have and available information student's need. I don't think I would send my student's to this website because there are too many distractions, and it seems like they would get lost in the ample of available information. It's also hard to have online instruction because message boards and chat rooms become off topic without someone there regulating what goes on in those environments.

Mountain Athlete - 0 views

Daniel Goe Web Site Review September 20, 2009 http://mtnathlete.com/ The Website Mountain Athlete goes over workout plans and techniques for the outdoor athlete. There are links for rehabbing an injury, exercises, store, and photo gallery. Content: The main objective of this website is to help people who don't know a lot about how to workout and what to do to workout properly. The kind of working out that is seen on this site is for fit people who are ready to be challenged mentally as well as physically. The objective is to lift weights while keeping your heart rate above 150. It's conditioning as well as strength. Design: The home page has an updated you tube video of people inside the gym working out. It shows how drastic the workouts are and the toll it can take on your body. Everyone in this gym is motivated and pushes one another to do their best and finish no matter how tired a person is. Attribution: I like the website because it is very simple and to the point. On the left are links to everything you need to know about what is going on in Mountain Athlete. The design is simple just like the workouts performed but overall the website gets the job done just like the athletes on this site get it done in the gym. No matter how it looks in the end the final project is amazing.

Mike Wilson Site review September 18, 2009 NASA Education Grades 9-12 Introduction As this is a NASA site, it is an awesome resource. While my selection is for Grades 9-12, the site covers K-12 + higher education. Mary Magnuson, Geology The website http://www.eduref.org/cgi-bin/lessons.cgi/Science/Geology is kind of boring. It has nothing really to keep you interested. It is good because it very clearly tells you who wrote the content, who is sponsoring it, and when it was created. Most of the content was created from between 1994 to 2003, so it is not the most updated. You might have to see if the content is still valid, or if they have come up with a new theory to explain processes. However, there are a lot of lesson plans to choose from, and it would be useful because it tells you everything you need, and the appropriate grade levels. So, while it is not the best website I have found today, it is still useful to a new teacher.

Mary Magnuson, Teaching science The website http://www.mii.org/lessons.php has good content. All of the links are current and take you to where you need to go. This would be a great source for teacher if they needed to find a lesson plan for teaching geology. It has a list of lesson plans and it also has activity ideas. It walks you through all of the processes you will have to be accustomed to, and how you can incorporate them into your classroom. The site is not the most beautiful site, but it is easy to navigate. The site also downloads fast. It has pictures that you could use for your classroom, and others that help the teacher understand the specific activity.

Christo and Jeanne Claude - 0 views

Ron Morgan September 20, 2009 This website is intended to inform viewers of past, current, and future projects constructed by Christo and Jeanne Claude. The audience of the website would be any artist (or anyone for that matter) interested in art work that takes on a grandeur scale. The site is very informative and allows the viewer to search through many other art works. The site also has links to questions, errors made in reports about the artists, bibliographies, etc. Overall, the site may not be the most aesthetically pleasing, but the website is very informative and the content is very interesting. Content Summary: Upon first glance the viewer can easily identify that the website belongs to artists and showcases their artwork. The artists appear to have hired a different person to run the website. Information about the artists is easily accessed by this website. A contact person is given; however, contacting the artists seems like it could be difficult. The website looks like it is updated according to the progress of the artists' artwork. All of the information given in this website is relevant and serves the purpose of the artists. The website also has links to a couple of other site related to the artwork. Website Design: This website downloads in a timely fashion. The website isn't the most appealing, visually, to me. The website, however, is very easy to navigate through. The index that is at the top of the website is straight forward and useful. The website doesn't have directions for help if it is needed. The artwork that is shown in depicted with either photographs or sketches/paintings. The artwork is the main focus of the website and the website is effective at showcasing it. The website has a lot of content and is definitely worth visiting.

Bighorn National Forest - 0 views

Content The content in this article is very useful, and would be meant for someone with background knowledge in Bighorn National Forest; Wyoming; Livestock Grazing and Vegetation Management EIS. This site is more complex than the others, but if you have the knowledge to understand, it is a very helpful site. This site is from the Federal Register of Environmental Documents, so it is not updated regularly since it is a one time written article. The sources for the site are very easily found at the top of the page, and would make citing the source very easy. Design The design of this page is very simple. The page is very easily navigated, and the links on the left hand side of the site are helpful. The page is in good working condition, and has no problems. The only issue with the site is that it is all writing, with no breaks or graphics to add to the sites content. Attribution The sources are located at the beginning of the article. They are very easily found, and the site would be easily cited if needed.

Kids Health / Nutrition & Fitness Center Posted by: Jeni Waring 9/18/2009 This website has information for children, teens and parents about nutrition and fitness. There are pages for children to calculate their BMI, look up their own recipes and play games. The site also has a tab that is for teachers to find health lesson plans. The planning pages include lessons in both English and Spanish and links to related websites. The site encourages teachers to share tips and has a place to sign up for emails when they have new information. The site is designed to be easily navigated and has a list of tabs on the left side of the home page. The site is a part of the Nemours foundation which is a nonprofit group that has been interested in children's health since its founding in 1936. The site has a page that explains how their information is evaluated and I think the site is credible.

Posted by Kate Guerrieri 9/18/2009 Title of web page: Tips on Teaching Creative writing. This website has helpful hints for new creative writing teachers. Content is easy to understand. Content: The content of this website is just a list of things that a new creative writing teacher might consider doing for their class. It offers insight from an experienced creative writing teacher, who knows what to expect when teaching this course. It deals with issues that may arise when teaching a creative writing class and offers solutions. This website is short, precise, and just a singular view point about teaching creative writing. It doesn't offer much information but the information is does offer is useful. Most of the idea's can be used for teaching any class and any new teachers might find this website helpful. Design: The design of this website is pretty standard. It has a bulleted list that highlights the information of the text. Unfortunately, there are many advertisements on this website that are somewhat distracting. There are no links to additional information. It is just a one sided view point that may be opinionated and it may not be credible. Attribution: This website is friendly for everyone. It is copy righted. People are free to use this information as long as they cite the author when necessary.
