This website is designed for the use of teachers for grade levels 2nd and above, but could be used for gifted children in 1st grade or kindergarten. The site provides a step by step process to create games, quizzes, or crosswords. This could be a fun way to integrate spelling, history, or any subject into a lesson. I personally am a big fan of finding a fun or creative way to teach a subject and would use this site, and suggest others check it out as well. The website is set up in a manner that expresses its purpose to users right away. The site is created by the company Kubbu and was last copy righted in 2012 by a company called Soft Glow. Although there has been a couple years since it has been updated, the purpose of the site being a creator and the user (teacher) being the provider of the information, makes it a good source to use still. The design, while not fun or very inviting is simple and leads users through the site with ease. They not only have words to get you to the area of the site you might want but provide pictures as well. While the color scheme is dull, and it doesn't feel very inviting, the design is effective enough for users to be able to successfully navigate their way through.

This is about English Language Learners. It defines what English language learners are and things to target in the lessons that can be most useful to these students. I like this site because it asks questions that can help a person identify what it is they are looking for and then it answers them thoroughly. This website is created by Benchmark Education Company. This site is extremely thorough and devoted to English Language Learners and teaching strategies that will help them. It goes into detail about some differences these learners have compared to other and also how to help them. The design of this website is very different from the last one. It is more formal but it still very easy to navigate. At the top of the page it states all the questions for easy searching. When you click on these questions it takes you to a very in depth answer. This website is for teachers who are teaching second or foreign languages. It consists of multiple approaches to teaching this subject. I really like the layout of this website. It has a list of all the approaches and when you scroll down it goes into detail about all of them. It also explains why each approach was selected and how it would work. I think that this website would be a great tool when one approach is not working. It would allow the teacher to look into various ways to teach and give them reasons as to why it might work. It also tells you how to approach each lesson and various do's and don'ts of the approach as well. This website is aesthetically pleasing. It has an approachable feeling and appears very helpful. It isn't negative and is rather encouraging. It also has links to other news in their bulletin section. I will definitely use this website in the future. Amanda Harrenga

John Ripley 9/12/11 Khan Academy Overview: This website is intended to provide a free, high quality educational experience for anyone interested in the material presented on the website. Based on my content and design evaluations I would say that this site achieves it's objective and is a useful educational tool. Because of the seriousness, for lack of a better word, of the layout it is probably more suitable for people in middle school and up. Content: The content covers math and science topics extremely well while the social studies fields are a little sparse. I focused on the math content and it was excellent, covering about every imaginable topic. The videos were easy to follow and informative and the practice problems were pertinent to the lessons shown in the videos. Design: The design of the website is straightforward and direct. It is easy to navigate and find exactly what you want. As I mentioned above, the design is fairly serious and I would think that elementary age students might prefer something a little more catchy and flashy. However, for a little older audience I think that the design is very good.

On math blasters there are similar characteristics as math playground. Although on math blasters the games are geared more towards beat the clock and racing games. Math blasters has organized the games into different grade levels. Math blasters also gives different resources that help to incorporate math games into a child's everyday life. The website also has the resources that provide teachers with fun interesting ways to teach math and get children more involved. A strength this website has it that is it very organized and looks like a lot of fun when you first log on. Although after trying to use the website it is hard to navigate through different tabs to find the games for students or resources for teachers. Although at the bottom of every page in the website their is a navigation bar that has everything organized by games, resource,worksheets, and lesson plans.

Elizabeth Schnell Overveiw: This website is an interavtive website that allows students to learn and get a deeper understanding of the Boston Massacre. It is fun for the student because they aren't stuck reading a website and lots of articles. This also disproves some of the information that is misleading. I think the design is very user friendly to my students. It is not complicated to navigate around. I really like this website and i would not be afraid to use it in a classroom setting it is very informational. Context: My students will get an in depth learning about the Boston Massacre without even having much background knowledge. It would be helpful to have a brief knowledge about the revolution before completing this assinment because it disproves some of the rumors that you hear about it. I find it to be very accruate information. Design: This website is very simple to navigste around. It is set up like a secret misson that the students have to complete. It is very user friendly and interesting. It is geared for a middle school student but they also have a teacher resource page to help guide the students.

Gil Lowrey- 10/7/12 Overview: Proteacher.net is another resource site teachers can use to get ideas for lesson plans. You can search individual subjects or specific grades. There is also a chat section to chat with other teachers and a group's section to keep fellow teachers in the loop of your findings. Content: The content is extensive; it covers several subjects and grades K-8. You can also find specific standards and activities relating to those standards. Design: The design is poor. It is a little complex to navigate at first, but once you figure it out it becomes easier. This can be tricky and obviously everyone has his or her own learning curve. There is also a large portion of the site given to advertising which seems to take away from the sites validity at first, but when you remember this is simply a site to help find more resources it seems to not matter.

Content: This website includes a large amount of content about teaching English to students that speak a different language as their first language. The content is easy to determine based on the home page. There is adequate information about the author of this site including her credentials. However, it is unclear about when the information was last revised. The site includes a tremendous number of links that takes you to websites where preschool to grade eight students can practice their English through doing a number of interactive activities. The site also includes lesson plans as well as information on how to effectively teach English as a second language. This website would be a very effective teaching tool for teachers and even parents that are trying to teach their children English. Design: The design of the website allows people to navigate it easily. It also loads very quickly and efficiently. The homepage includes clear information immediately about where you are and what the contents of the site are. There is information about how to contact the author of the site. The links listed all contain descriptions of the site that they take you too. Most of the links work properly, however, there was a couple that could not be found. The site contains a very large amount of information that can be extremely helpful resources for ESL or any teachers. I was unable to find the currency of the information, however, at the bottom the date for how long the website has been up was listed. Overview: The intended audience of this website is ESL teachers and the links provided by the website are intended for students from preschool to 8th grade because it provides interactive learning activities for them. The purpose of the site is to provide teachers with resources and information on how to effectively teach their students the English language. The purpose of this site is to educate young elementary students on the primary, secondary and tertiary colors. The webpage is fairly simple and straight forward and includes pictures for more visual learners. In addition, this website gives other fun activities linked to other topics: Seed Germination, Co2 reactions. Content The content of this webpage was 'worth bookmarking for future reference'. I found the sponsors of the page to be not labeled correctly, or given proper dues.. I couldn't find the contact information of the website author either. Overall this webpage is good for k-6 students in many different subjects. Design: This page was simple in design, and rather easy to understand. All the parts of each page were purposeful in contributing to the topic and making pages interesting. I found the homepage to be a bit bland with only a list for navigation to other pages, it lacked a personal touch. I did like, however, how it was broken up into grade level, then by topics. Quite useful for planning broad spectrum lessons plans. This page showed not date of revision but the 'about us' page says who the admin is. ~A.Rodriquez

Visual Examples of Organic and Geometric shapes

This website provides examples to students of visual instruction to organic and geometric shapes. This webpage links other students work from outside the classroom and provides inspiration to my students for pieces of their own art. Grades 2-4 would benefit from this page. Content: This page was rated average in content because of how specific a topic it had. I couldn't find things like last revision date. I didn't like how the content was presented since it was mainly pictures with captions. I did like the difference in art between each student and I feel like it would be beneficial to show when on the topic of Shapes in art. This page also links to other artistic topics of drawing, like the 'Great Wave' in Asian art and Egyptian Symbols. Design: Since this is a single blog entry post, I do not favor the site design. I feel it lacks in off-site information and thus is insufficient. I would use it as a supplement tool but not the bases for a whole lesson. The reference page for the teach is quite informational and would provide a good source for any questions. ~A.Rodriquez
