teachwithwiki - Elementary Teachers - 0 views

  •
This wikispace is full of different elementary wiki pages. It allows other elementary teachers the chance to look at other teachers pages for ideas for different content areas.

Amanda, this looks like a great resource for elementary teachers. Have you had a chance to play around with this site more yet? I'd like to find more "chat" sites to communicate and connect with other elementary teachers. Wiki's are a great place to find free resources.

Twitucate - 0 views

  •
This site allows teachers to create a class Twitter account so that students don't need individual usernames and passwords.
  •
twiducate is the perfect solution for elementary and secondary students. Rather than having your students sign up and enter an email address, you sign up and create a class code.

ShowMe Interactive Whiteboard on the App Store on iTunes - 1 views

  •
Even though this app only works on iPads, I consider it a Web 2.0 tool as well because recorded "ShowMe's" are accessible on your computer. Similar to Educreations, it is an interactive whiteboard. I've used with with elementary students to create social stories. I use my iPad to take a picture of them doing the preferred activity, then have them voice record their own description. Very effective with children with autism!

Education Examples - Celly - 0 views

Similar to Twitter, but without ads. Create a cell for a class, have discussions over content, take notes, share information and more.

This seems like a great resource Abby. I've been trying to find Twitter replacements, since our district blocks Twitter and most other social media sites. Do you have experience using this? I'd love to know more.
  •
Although my district does not block Twitter, I see this as a great tool for lower elementary kids.

Storybird - Your Stuff - 0 views

  •
This site allows students to choose artwork from the site and then create a story.
  •
This is a fun way for elementary students to make their own stories online. There are different backgrounds and characters for the students to select. I have used this with my own students and they liked that they were able to share their online book with their parents at home.

Storybird is a tool to create digital stories.

This teacher/blogger is funny and honest about the happenings in her classroom. It is a good read for people who love teaching but are having a burnout day.
