November 25, 2011, Los Angeles - Gold bullion prices rose in light trading 0.18 percent or $3.00 to close at $1,694.50 an ounce on Thursday, as France and Germany agreed to halt bickering in public over whether the European Central Bank (ECB) should do more to rescue the eurozone from its widening debt crisis. The price of Silver advanced 0.38 percent or $0.12 to close at $31.80 an ounce while the Gold/Silver ratio, the number of ounces of Silver it takes to buy one ounce of Gold, edged down to 53.29 as Silver outperformed Gold.

Spot gold had risen USD 1.15 an ounce to USD 1,463.65 by 0025 GMT, having posted its biggest weekly gain in three months last week. US gold for June delivery stood at USD 1,463.20 an ounce, up USD 9.60. The first trading day of the week in the international commodity market shopping trend is being witnessed. COMEX up gold and silver, so the crude oil boom is hitting NYMEX. Gold futures on MCX were trading marginally up, mostly factoring the fall in rupee against the dollar, even as parent contract on COMEX was slightly down, continuing its consolidation in the range of $10 an ounce. Gold looses a few dollars but remaining almost flat during yesterday's session. Bullion continue to trade within a narrow range, and trying hard to stabilized above the US$1,570-80/ounce levels. Gold dropped 1 percent to a session low of USD 1,460.49 an ounce on Tuesday as holdings on SPDR Gold Trust, the world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, plunged to their lowest since 2009. Prices now holds strong supports at 29725 (50-day SMA), 29400 (100-day SMA) and last at 28695 (200-day SMA).
