An excellent 20 minute TED talk on the danger of stereotypes - would be good to use with older students - to discuss views that they have of different countries.
A website and video that imagines sending radiators to Norway from Africa because the people are freezing.
A brilliant aid for students to challenge stereotypes and examine perceptions of other countries.
Here is another website which is great to encourage all students to think and discuss (even the ones who don't speak English.) There are some good activities students can write about after they have watched the videos.

My headteacher just shared with us this great website. It has a great list of resources to use in the classroom especially for standard 2.

I'd like to share with you the website "100People: a world portrait - a global education toolbox":
http://www.100people.org
It's really interesting. It analyses global issues (e.g. water, food, health, economy) as if the world were 100 people. I think it might be particularly useful to develop Standard 2. Please, take a look
I came across a guide from Oxfam UK about 'Education for Global Citizenship' whilst researching Standard 2.

Perhaps it is useful for others with their Global Issue topic. It has some background information about why it is important for students to become global citizens, and also has some lesson ideas for the different Key Stages and how it ties into the National Curriculum.
