This short article is a review for those who would like to use the iPad/iPhone app 'Fit Brains Trainer.' It provides activities that allow one to think faster, to improve short and long term memory, to enhance their ability to solve complex problems, and to improve concentration when there are many distractions present.

When I first saw the title to this article, "Infographic: Citizenship in the digital age," it made me smile. The popularity of technology and the world wide wide is growing rapidly. It's not only for personal use anymore. We truly have reached a "digital age." Anything and everything can be done and is done through the internet. With technology growing and becoming more and more available in the classroom and at home. Children as young as 3 and 4 years old are having access to things we never thought would be possible. As funny as it may sound it is extremely accurate that this article compares all of the similarities between actual citizenship and digital citizenship. As up and coming teachers it is important that we not only address this issue to our students but to practice it and show it's significance. This especially applies to bullying. Bullying has become such a huge issue in our classrooms recently and the majority of it is cyber bullying. With the world wide web  being such a big part of our everyday lives, its scary to think about it's permanency  and possible effect on our lives. 

This article is helpful to our class because it establishes how important technology integration into our classroom is, and that in order to do so we teachers must be trained professionally. This improves our quality as educators.

I found this article perfect because it relates to what we are presently doing in class. Basically, it is describing how popular iPads are becoming in classrooms and how younger students are using them as well. It gives a list of the to six apps for creative writing. This is useful information because some student have a hard time writing down ideas on paper, or even writing at all. These apps could help students think of ideas, strategies, and give them useful tips for writing. This article shows technology integration in classrooms through the use of iPads.

I found a great article about using iPad Apps to enhance creative writing for students. Some students struggle with writing. Often, they have difficulty formulating their ideas and putting the pen to paper. For these students, writing is daunting task. However, this article highlights 6 useful Apps that can help to promote and inspire students to create their own narratives. These Apps may be a fun way to enhance student learning and many of the Apps are free in the App store.

This article highlights the importance a personal learning network can have on the success of a teacher. Like Mrs.Wendt this article stresses a PLN as a vital tool to help learn from others and become a better teacher to your students, which we all are striving to be in the future. The article gives 5 reasons why educators should network. They are, learn with others, serve your students, access a dynamic resource, extend your learning base and to stay engaged in education.

This is a very great article, I think that networking with other teachers is how you truly become a great teacher. If teachers did not network and talk to each other they would only know what they were taught in college and not have any hands on experience from other teachers who may have been there for a long time. I also believe in staying in touch with others through social media, it is a great resource.

This article is very enlightening and describes how important it is to network with other teachers. Now that you connect virtually connect with anyone in the world at anytime, its makes it much easier to gain insight from other teachers no matter where they are located.

Project ReimaginED is based of of Sarah Winchester's idea for her eighth grade students workshop which allowed students to comment and grade each others works anonymously. This was a great idea and could be a tremendous help to anyone need a technological helper in their creative writing class or if the class is new and not comfortable with each other yet. Project ReImaginED is a contest for teachers to show off their ways of infusing technology into their classrooms in order to win. Winchester's idea allowed the students to express their ideas without having to share their identity so some may be more inclined to say more than the usual, "It was nice. I liked it." When they have to workshop their peers. Project ReimaginED "allows teachers to see what their peers have already or plan to implement in their classrooms and encourages teachers to try technologies in ways they have never imagined." It does not say what the prize is for winning.

This valuable article by Nicole Krueger explores five tips on how to develop a professional learning network amongst fellow educators from all around the world. Michelle has stressed to us in class how so many teachers have "discovered these vibrant learning communities" through means of networking sites such as Pinterest, Twitter, Edmodo, Diigo, Google Classroom, and much more. This assignment, of bookmarking and sharing information, epitomizes the importance of this article as we are enabling one another to grow from each other's ideas.Thus, I think for our class and other educators alike it is important to "dedicate time for networking, joining networks, attending conferences and edcamps, sharing ideas, and asking connected educators for help." The ability of such vast wealths of knowledge to be shared globally between many teachers can only implicate stronger connections and better points of reference for all educators in the future. 

Today ISTE Standards list digital citizenship as one of aspects, which all members of a school district should support. Today digital technology is growing at a fast rate not only in schools but also in society as a whole. Mike Ribble and his college Gerald Bailey wrote a book called "Digital Citizenship in schools." The book defines 9 key elements on how use technology in school, home and within the community. Among the 9 elements are 3 categories: Respect, Educate and Protect. Respect covers using technology correctly and not stealing others property. Educate covers helping users communicate to each other properly and to use literacy correctly as well as buying items online correctly. Protect covers educating others to know their privacy rights. Mike hopes to have these 9 elements created into a curriculum so teachers can use technology at various levels. Mike wants to make sure that educators make sure to help students understand the issues they may encounter online while also showing the positive impact technology can have.

This article discusses the importance of Technology integration. Effective tech integration is achieved when the use of technology becomes second nature or routine and when technology supports goals. This article also explains the importance of technology in school so that student can be intellectually challenged while providing them with an accurate picture office looks like. Bringing Technology into classrooms will keep the children to engaged which in turn reduce behavioral problems.

This article talks about why technology should be integrated into the curriculum. Technology integration will help students gain the skills they need for our world which is highly technological. Effective technology in the classroom can deepen and enhance the learning process. The are four key components of learning include: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and connection to real-world experts. Learning while using technology allows students to be challenged while also providing an outlook of how an office works. The use of the web also allows students to connect with others around the world. If the technology is integrated into subject areas, the teachers take on different roles as advisers, content experts, and coaches which makes learning more meaningful and fun.

In every minute of our lives technology is being utilized in some kind of way. It is the most engaging tool that been created and what bteter way to teach children then with what they love the most. Technology being integrated into the curriculum is the best thing for the students since they are already glued to different tools. Which makes it an effective learning style. It has enhanced subject areas and the minds of teachers and students. It has created a teacher-student relationship which is far beyond the classrooms. It makes group assignment or individual assignment fun and creative. It has changes everything from how teachers teach, students learn, and different ways of assessment. It provides students with an advantage of how the real world operates on a daily basis. It has also changed how we communicate and how often we now communicate. It has made connecting with other students around the world possible. It gives immediate feedback which keeps students and teachers engaged

This is a very interesting article. Every student in my class play this game. Most of my students play the creative mode. It is amazing to watch these kids build intricate maps that display knowledgeable concentration. I find myself watching the kids over their shoulders on break for several minutes and being astonished of the problem solving techniques they use to think their specified maps. On top of that, it is a very hard game to play. I never can complete a regular level. I feel like a dinosaur picking up their tablet and try to play this game. I remember trying to play my dad in the early Madden games growing up. I feel like the parent picking up the controller and having no idea what to do. Even though the concept is so simple. There are several learning abilities to apply for the game.

This helps students all be able to get the same information without the hassle of what I like to call 'e-mail tag' when they are not in the classroom, for homework and such. But this also helps teachers get her students on the same website when they are in the classroom. A lot of the time spent in computer based classrooms especially with younger grades, is spent setting up the lesson and getting the students onto the webpage. This will decrease the instances of those issues and quicken the set up part of the lesson so there is more time for learning.

What a useful tool for the classroom setting to keep students on task and focused! It guarantees that students won't be roaming the internet during the activity/lesson!

Really cool article about how to get all the students on the same webpage instantly. Really good way to make sure everyone is on the same page and paying attention.

In this article Education Secretary Arne Duncan highlights how the achievement gaps within our schools can be closed by the increase investment in technology use in all classrooms. He states that 2/3 of teachers wish they had more technology in the classrooms which is being limited due a high percentage of schools not having adequate bandwidth or access to high-speed internet. As future teachers who are learning now how to integrate technology into our classrooms this article is important to our class because it shows that most schools do not really have the opportunity to utilize this knowledge. But, the actions of Duncan and other reforms are trying to ensure that we as teachers receive the professional development and resources available so we can integrate our technological knowledge in the classroom.

I found this article most interesting because I had never looked at failure in this way before. I never would have thought to make a google classroom with students who had taken the class before in order to receive help beyond the teacher. To be able to look at failure and to grow from it is a skill that I believe that everyone should have.

"Is the phone the new pencil?" article I found was very interesting and can help teachers be more open minded when it comes to technology. Yes, often teachers as well as parents think that technology is taking over many things even when t comes to education, but in a way it is keeping our children's mind working and thinking about what they are going to write. However, the downfall in my opinion is that are children using correct grammar? Also, how does this affect the social skills when it comes to being face to face versus on a screen. There's many factors that even out the usage of cell phones and pencils.

Writing professor and researcher Jeff Grabill discusses a Michigan State University study which suggests that, although students spend much of their day with cell phone in hand, their "writing lives" are blossoming.

This article is a great read for teachers integrating technology! The article specifies why integration of technology in the classroom improves student achievement. The article also gives step by step instructions and which tools are proven to be needed in the classroom. The article also includes where to start. 

This article is an excerpt by Boni Hamilton. This shows her "philosophy" of technology integration; what it is, why integrate, and effectiveness of research. She also talks about how schools need to be properly equipped for integration. She gives ideas of how to start and what the administrators as well as the teachers need to do. As prospective educators ourselves, this would be of great use to us.  

This article peaked my interest: Within the next ten years, de Blasio is requiring all of the city's public schools to offer computer science for all students.These courses will only be offered as electives. The main concern for this is finding enough teachers that are properly trained and training others. Computer science jobs are among the fastest growing. They are also the some of the highest paying jobs.  Computer sciences are primarily dominated by white or Asian males. With these courses being available to all students in elementary schools, hopefully the number of minorities and girls who will be interested will increase.

I found that this article may be helpful to this class because it explains how a school in London is not allowing any sort of technology in the classrooms of their students until they are twelve years old. The article uses hyperlinks to back up the claims of the school that implementing technology in the classroom has not shown any positive correlation towards a students ability to learn. This article is showing how a school is actually doing everything the opposite of what our class, INTC 2610, is learning how to do and it is interesting to see a view that does not believe technology integration is an integral part of learning. 

This article is helpful to us as future teachers. This teacher states that she was always the student falling asleep during her boring lectures. Now that she teaches she has thought of fun and exciting ways to integrate technology into her classroom presentations to keep students engaged! She loves using polls and encourages using social media also!

I think this article is helpful for me because as a future history teacher, lectures and presentations are going to be inevitable. Therefore, its important to think of the students and how they can be actively involved and engaged and enjoying the lesson!
