Why I Gave Up Flipped Instruction - 0 views

  •
Interesting article on a teacher's decision to end using the flipped classroom model.  Also, the article refers to a student-centered approach, not a teacher-centered approach.
  •
The flipped classroom is something that I have been interested in doing when I become a teacher so I find this interesting. I saved it to look at more later but from what I read she did love some things about the flipped classroom and says that when she wrote about it in a previous post she doesn't disagree with anything she had written but that she has now decided to end it anyway. Looking at her reasons why she decided to end it, I think it seems it was more of just a personal preference than the fact that it didn't work well or that there were any major problems with it. It's definitely something I will read more carefully later on though!

I really enjoyed looking more into Mrs. Nessman's blog. I am a huge fan of blogs and love to get new ideas. I feel some of the best ideas are ones in which we find from other teachers. She provides a lot of creative ideas in which I could modify to use within my own future classroom. Thanks for sharing!

This is a really neat blog! I always enjoy reading about new and creative ideas that I could possibly use in my future classroom. Mrs. Nessman's blog is very impressive and creative! I could definitely see myself using this blog as a reference when I am a teacher. I have not encountered any other blog that is this innovative. I can see many teachers learning much from Mrs. Nessman. Good find, Nicole!

Thanks for sharing this blog. Although I am a Special Education teacher I still felt like their were a lot of ideas I could apply to my classroom. It's always fun to see what other educators out their are doing. This blog would be used primarily for teachers as its all about ideas in the classroom for instruction and projects. However you could use it to create a project choice list for you students to choose to complete so many by the end of the year.

Technology Integration Matrix - 5 views

  •
This is a good way to do intensive planning to integrate technology into your classroom, or to plan technology lessons.  It is a K-12 resource and includes video examples of classrooms.

Hey Mel, I have also seen one similar to these from Arizona. It, too, included examples of lessons and videos. Whenever you have concrete examples, the abstract ideas seem more realistic.
  •
Great planning resource for classroom teachers. This is a resource I will share with teachers in my building. I hadn't seen a matrix like this that included video from the classroom.
  •
What a great reference tool for any teacher, not just technology users.
  •
Wow! This is seriously a great planning resource. This should be utilized for this course, as an additional resource to look at how to more effectively integrate some of the technology we are learning about into our own lesson planning. I am bookmarking this onto my own lists, right now. Obviously a tool for teachers more than for students, I will be using this for a unit planning assignment I'm doing in my Human Relations course right now! Thanks for sharing!

Really interesting study from Pepperdine on the effectiveness of iPads in a school setting.  There are some awesome nuggets of information to pull out here for everyone involved with the 1:1 movement.

A great study that actually looked at the realistic results of putting iPads in a college setting. This was a scientific study that yielded some interesting results.

Google For Educators - 2 views

  •
A great source for collaborative tools for both teachers and students. One of the coolest parts of GFE is the lesson plan search!! Can easily search for what you're looking for in a lesson plan and come up with many ideas and outlines to get you started.

Coolest think about Google for Educators? Lesson plan search!

Google in Education is a great resource for students and teachers. It provides authentic opportunities for students, tutorials, and lesson ideas for teachers.
  •
This resource would be great to use in my future classroom! I really like how it has classroom tools for teachers and students. I think this would be a great tool for educators to use and refer to. This bookmark could be used both by teachers and/or students. However, I think that educators would gain most from it. Teachers then could transfer knowledge of tools and applications to students in classroom content lessons. From my experiences, "Discovery Education" is somewhat similar in regards to having many resources available for students, administrators, and educators.

Google for Educators is a very good tool for teachers to use, i liked the way it organized, it is easy to research and find what you want, classroom videos are awesome tools to use.

Just FYI: sorry if this gets posted twice. I accidentally posted these far before the assignment was due, and wanted to ensure they are still visible on the group.
