I hope to design a wiki that will help students and parents discuss and review math topics from school for years 7 - 10 (pathway B).
This means that you get to build and change this site. You can change something if it's wrong...or add something if it is needed.
This is not designed for me to tell you how to do maths - you can teach each other with this wiki.
Great resource because the teacher notes have links to other internet sites. Good for kids working at stage 2 and 3. All worksheets are in PDF so can be used in powerpoints
This is the main page of free teaching materials created with GeoGebra. The structure here is close to the US school system, but we also have an overview page for UK schools.
This site looks to have many useful applications that could be used in the classroom if iphones or ipod touches were available to use.
Number Line and Fraction Factory could be great applications to use in a Year 8 class. To help reiterate fractions, percentages and decimals.
"Research shows that a project to use the devices as teaching tools in some N.C. districts has had a measurable impact on student achievement in math."
doing the best you can in maths keeps open lots of the careers you are interested in
everyday life is full of maths:
planning a trip,
budgeting to buy a car or leave home,
being an informed voter,
sports,
hobbies etc...
The youcandomaths campaign encourages all young people and their families to appreciate the important role mathematics plays in many careers and everyday life.
And it is not only useful; mathematics is interesting and enjoyable. I hope you find this website informative and encouraging because You Can Do Maths!"
