MathsClass is about teaching and learning in a maths classroom. When I first started this blog (2007), my intention was to write about using technology in the maths classroom. However, using technology in the classroom wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. This blog shifted focus to being more generally about teaching in the maths classroom. This site will be a place for gathering ideas, sharing what works and listening to the experiences of others (i.e. you, feel free to comment).

You can "draw" on a whiteboard and record an audio explanation at the same time. You're given a url for your creation and/or you can embed it into a blog. Others can leave comments about your Sketchcast, too. It's particularly good to demonstrate concepts and allow students to access later (myclasses, moodle etc)

I hope to design a wiki that will help students and parents discuss and review math topics from school for years 7 - 10 (pathway B). This means that you get to build and change this site. You can change something if it's wrong...or add something if it is needed. This is not designed for me to tell you how to do maths - you can teach each other with this wiki.

Great idea - but the ratios page doesn't look great - text only may not be helpful - though there are videos too.

Last year, while watching the Beijing Olympics, I was blown away by how much faster Usain Bolt was than everybody else. How fast can a human actually run?
