MathsClass is about teaching and learning in a maths classroom.When I first started this blog (2007), my intention was to write about using technology in the maths classroom. However, using technology in the classroom wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Math Apprentice is an awesome flash site that shows kids how math is used in the real world, with real world jobs.

THis site is great to show how maths models our world and things the students understand eg bicycles, rides, etc

"Math applications (apps) for iPod Touch offer teachers an excellent way to help focus students in math classes."

This site looks to have many useful applications that could be used in the classroom if iphones or ipod touches were available to use. Number Line and Fraction Factory could be great applications to use in a Year 8 class. To help reiterate fractions, percentages and decimals.

I hope to design a wiki that will help students and parents discuss and review math topics from school for years 7 - 10 (pathway B). This means that you get to build and change this site. You can change something if it's wrong...or add something if it is needed. This is not designed for me to tell you how to do maths - you can teach each other with this wiki.

Great idea - but the ratios page doesn't look great - text only may not be helpful - though there are videos too.
