A lot of great designers start simple…with a pencil and paper. No Macbook Pro, no Photoshop, just a #2 and Mead. Interface designers brianstorm their idea on paper only to apply it to Photoshop or a similar graphic application. I've compiled some great web design sketches for you to be inspired by.

Cargo is a creative publishing platform where everything, from the ever-changing visual appearance of people's personal websites to the user interface, is built around the work shared by its members. Cargo's goal is to dramatically increase the accessibility and exposure of creative individuals on the Internet, while aspiring to build a networked context that will contribute to the culture as a whole.

A particular aspect I admire is that membership the Cargo Collective is either via invitation from existing members (who may invite 5 people), or acceptance of a written request to become part of the collective.
