Hello everyone, I just wanted to share with you this website called 'ICT in Everyday Learning: A Toolkit for Teachers'. This website draws on the 'TPACK' framework and provides information for teachers regarding ICT and pedagogy. The website makes explicit links between pedagogy, the Australian Curriculum, and the use of ICT to enhance pedagogy and facilitate student learning. In researching different ICTs to include in my table for Assessment Task 1, I found the 'Technology: Tools and Devices' section very useful! This section provides links to a range of ICTs across different learning areas. It was interesting to browse through these ICTs and examine which ones 'enhance' teaching and learning and which ones have the potential to 'transform' teaching and learning. I hope you find this website helpful!

Twitter as PD - 2 views

  • Just ten minutes. Even just skimming through that list of things would give me more relevant PD than most teachers get exposed to in a whole year.

Interesting blog post by Chris about Twitter being used a personal development tool.

thanks for sharing. it is amazing the possibilities students have to express their ideas and creativity with the use of ICT! only a few years ago I couldn't have imagined early primary students being able to use anything more than Microsoft word, and maybe Powerpoint to create a digital story! and now they can use an iPad and create a full multimodal text with ease! online study mummy

These Know-Wonder-Learn charts are an excellent resource for accessing students prior knowledge on a particular subject and brainstorming new understanding. These charts could be used for students learning in all subjects and years.
  •
FYI there is an app series called Tools 4 Students that has a range of graphic organisers including KWL charts that students can complete and share through the app.

Educational Ways to Use Padlet - 8 views

  •
There are so many great ways to use this ICT tool and this Padlet outlines some of these ideas.
  •
This is awesome, I used Padlet in the classroom during the first week of my ICT prac and it worked like a charm. After each session I taught, the students had to think of something they learnt in the lessons I taught and add their note on the wall under the relevant topic. We even completed a get to know me Padlet wall and some of the notes were so sweet. I have my mentor interested in Padlet now and she is going to look into how she can incorporate it into her classroom. So thankyou for this amazing share.
