    Its great to hear people say that we need to work together. I remember years ago a friend of mine (who was a Grade 6 teacher) told me of her frustration when she would encourage her students and they were alive with excitement to learn and explore and the work they handed in was exceptional from her point of view. However, six months into the next year she would be so disappointed because the grades of the Year 7 students would be declining and their attitude was one of apathy. What she wanted to do was to work with the Year 7 teacher so with a combined effort they could assist the students to continue their positive attitude throughout their time at upper primary school. The Year 7 teacher felt threatened and the sad cycle continued.       The ownership of copyright has some interesting implications for sites such as "Teachers pay Teachers". (i.e. a teacher may not own the copyright for the material they produce)

  • if the information is in electronic format, post the URL or citation on your blog, website or shared server space: sharing the URL is not a copyright infringement
  • You cannot upload the presentation onto a blog or website as that would mean that the copying you carried out would no longer be for research or study.

    I've used this for marketing before, and thought it may help some time poor students- write a few blogs on the weekend, and spread them out to be automatically sent by hootsuite when you choose. Could be very handy! Would work in a classroom, if you knew every Wednesday was sports day, and your students were on twitter, have an automated tweet go out every Tuesday night to remind them to wear sports uniform/bring sports equipment. Great opportunities to be connected without having to remember regularly!
