From the site MathPickle was founded in 2010 to inject new ideas into the classroom. It is the driving force to get curricular unsolved problems into classrooms worldwide - one for each grade K-12. A conference in November 2013 established the thirteen unsolved problems. Aimed to solve this problem Whenever an elementary school teacher wants to teach addition, she will invariably face 20% of students who already know how to add and another 20% who are struggling with last year's curriculum. How can she engage the top students without losing the bottom students? How can she engage the bottom students without boring the top students?

A place to share K-12 learning resources

I have been following this teachers blog for the last week and a half as part of my PLN. Her most recent post, which contains a presentation she will be conducting includes a HUGE amount of apps for every imaginable topic- behaviour management, English, creativity etc etc

Sorry for my ignorance but how do you follow her blog? I am interested in the apps, good find.

This is a very interesting article and it talks about 'toolkits' for children in school, "Attention should be given to grammar across K-12, as part of the 'toolkit' that helps all students access the resources necessary to meet the demands of schooling and of their lives outside of school."

Accelerated Reader is a great way of assisting students with text selection as well as keeping track of comprehension by way of students completing a quiz on completion of a text.

Here i have found a blog of a primary school teacher from the Midwest, named Mrs K. She shares many great stories of her classroom experiences and offers a wide variety of tips and tricks of the teaching profession You can definitely see from her blog posts how passionate she is dedicating her life to the needs of her students. A very inspiring read!
