I love the idea of Twitter etiquette. Twitter just like any other social networking site has its own rules and guidelines that any new member has to accept before opening their account. But there are also other rules that are formed by force of actual use and though they are not as binding as the written ones but they are just as much important. As teachers and educators, the purpose behind using Twitter is primarily to connect with other teachers, learn from their teaching experiences and share with them ours.In doing so we build a community of people that we interact with and for this interaction to be effective we need to abide by Twitter code of ethics. It is important to realize the implications for our students of our own critical reflection. Students put great store by our actions and they learn a great deal from observing how we model intellectual inquiry and democratic process. Given that this is so, a critically reflective teacher activates her classroom by providing a model of passionate skepticism. As Osterman (1990) comments, "critically reflective teachers - teachers who make their own thinking public, and therefore subject to discussion - are more likely to have classes that are challenging, interesting, and stimulating for students" (p. 139). "We hear a lot about what things are popular in terms of technology, the cool new devices that are coming out, and trends that are happening with classroom technology integration. But just because something is a trend (or even a requirement) doesn't that it is popular or liked. It doesn't mean you won't hear people grumbling about it. Often times, trends become trends because a lot of people like them, but in the case of education, trends can happen easily in the following scenario: administrators like the idea and think it is great, and teachers have to implement said idea regardless of if it is a great fit with their classroom and students. The current state of technology in the classroom is somewhere between its infancy and bold experimentation. For every 1:1 tablet program or BYOD-pioneering district, there is a teacher in a poor urban district struggling to get her "smart" board thinking again, or another in a rural district dancing a little dance for his new document camera. One interesting stat? 65% of teachers say technology let's them demonstrate things they could not show any other way. That one makes sense, though I'd think it might be closer to 100%.

Technology and education are pretty intertwined these days and nearly every teacher has a few favorite tech tools that make doing his or her job and connecting with students a little bit easier and more fun for all involved. Yet as with anything related to technology, new tools are hitting the market constantly and older ones rising to prominence, broadening their scope, or just adding new features that make them better matches for education, which can make it hard to keep up with the newest and most useful tools even for the most tech-savvy teachers. Here, we've compiled a list of some of the tech tools, including some that are becoming increasingly popular and widely used, that should be part of any teacher's tech tool arsenal this year, whether for their own personal use or as educational aids in the classroom.

The Commonwealth Certificate for Teacher ICT Integration (CCTII) is a distance qualification that can be offered in blended mode or as a distance learning course. It can also be offered as a qualification or module by module as a range of short courses. Teacher education institutions can adopt and use this resource.

This Guyana ICT materials have been developed to support the training of teachers to integrate ICT into their teaching practices. The materials and guides are strongly aligned with the UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (CFT). The framework encourages cyclical growth of a teacher's ICT competency. New users should work through the Technology Literacy materials first and then graduate to the Knowledge Deepening materials. In time we will also include materials for the final cycle: Knowledge Creation. Within each cycle we have selected 5 focus areas: Understanding ICT, Curriculum & Assessment, Pedagogy, Organisation and Administration and Professional Development. These focus areas have a number of units or lessons that focus on how to integrate ICT into these areas.
