What does Google Moderator do? Google Moderator allows you to create a series about anything that you are interested in discussing and open it up for people to submit questions, ideas, or suggestions. These are called submissions.  Anyone can come to the site and submit a question, idea, or vote, and anyone can vote. Google Moderator shows you a question in the box with the blue background. This is called the Featured Question. A topic is a way to break up your series into smaller, more manageable topics of discussion. You can have one topic, or multiple topics. For example, if you create a series of 'Book clubs' for your organization, topics could be 'Fiction,' 'Non-fiction,' or 'Auto-biographies.'

Google Forms isn't the first thing you think of when you think of assessment. It's not especially elegant, it won't wow students, and the learning curve isn't as mild as it might be. But with a little bit of work on the front-end, Google Forms can return the favor in spades on the back-end in the form of self-grading assessments. While there isn't an app (yet) that can uncover the true nuance of understanding, if you're using multiple-choice assessments-even just as pre and summative assessments-this trick can save you time, allowing the real potential of assessment to shine through in consistently extracting data to revise planned instruction.

Using Google to look for text is simple enough, but not until recently did I realize you could use it to search by reading level. And it typical Google fashion, it's slightly more convoluted a process than it needs to be, but is otherwise dead simple.

As part of Search Education, Google has shared a bunch of lesson plans that are organized by degree of difficulty. So, if you consider yourself and / or your students Google experts, you should try out the more advanced plans. If you don't know what 'boolean' means, then you probably should start with the more basic stuff.

 The World Wonders Project is  probably best described as a multimedia encyclopedia of 132 historic and notable sites across five continents. The project assembles Google Streetview imagery, Google Earth 3D buildings, UNESCO World Heritage information, videos, and pictures on one page. Visitors to the World Wonders Project can move through the Streetview imagery just like they would on Google Maps.

" Multiple layers could be used for showing data differences on a year over year or month over month basis. You could display the same data with different base layers for comparison. Students working collaboratively on a map can be responsible for editing their own layers on the same map. If you're using Google My Maps to have students create literature trips, they can create a different layer for each chapter of a book. Students mapping the history of an event like the U.S. Civil War could create a different layer for each year of the war.
